DeShaun Foster: Should Start Monday Night

Update: Foster (elbow) practiced all week and is expected to start Monday night against Philadelphia, ESPN's John Clayton reports.

Recommendation: With the emergence of DeAngelo Williams, expect Foster to see around 15 carries on Monday night, while getting the nod on passing downs as well. Williams has struggled in pass protection, keeping the door open for Foster to get the better half of any potential time share.

I'm playing Foster tonight because of the information from Clayton, does he have a good track record?

I have not seen any other information!

I don't think there is any football reporter I would trust more than Clayton. As far as I am concerned, he is the best there is.

John Clayton is rather reliable. Problem is, Foster isn't.
Glad to hear John Claytons information is usually good, I have not been able to find any other info on this. Yeah I know Foster has not been great, I just need him to put up a few points in a high scoring system, I'm up by 4 points and the other team has Kasey left.

The original report was made on Friday for a Monday game. Clayton speculated based upon Foster's return to practice, but apparently was without the knowledge that Foster's elbow problem limited his ability to block.

What a killer, no Foster and I lose by 3 and knocked out of the playoffs. Sad thing is I left 3 RB's on my bench that I would of played with out the news of him starting. Shame on Clayton & shame on me! :wall: :wall:

"Should" does not equal "Will". You can't take a chance like that with your playoffs on the line.

Obvious advice in hindsight. I needed 19 pts out of my 2nd RB slot to make the playoffs and started Foster over Chester Taylor. The Eagles Defense had been reeling. I thought that Foster would play, although knew that there was a risk. D Williams did show that a big point output was possible. I didn't think that the Vikes would find the end zone often at Soldier Field in cold weather. FF is alll about calculated gambles.

Since the NFLN came along I think that Clayton's info has gotten much worse. He doesn't seem to have the same connections that he maybe once had. Fox's Jay Glazer and NFLN's Adam Schefter outshine him consistently though.

<<<<<<<<<<<<<<Not a biig fan of any of the ESPN reporters - maybe Stink, but that is about it.

And not because of his "inside sources" either. He has a good football mind. I respect him.

ETA <<<<<<<<<<<<<DID NOT start Foster over Taylor. Didn't you read Mr Dodds rankings? :P
