49ers | Frank Gore may not be pushed

Tue, 15 Nov 2011 12:35:51 -0800

San Francisco 49ers head coach Jim Harbaugh gave the indication that he may not push RB Frank Gore (knee) in Week 11 with RBs Kendall Hunter and Anthony Dixon more than capable of carrying the load. "I would plan on (Gore) playing, but you just feel like right now that we've got a stable of backs," Harbaugh said. "We've got Frank Gore. We've got Kendall Hunter. We've got fresh legs in Anthony Dixon. This bodes really well for our football team." The team has a short week in Week 12 against the Baltimore Ravens, which may be even more reason to rest Gore.

I thought this might happen... They certainly don't need to force him in to win their division at this point. They'll need him in the playoffs that's for sure. This is about the time of year that Gore traditionally falls to pieces.

49ers | Frank Gore has done well against Arizona

Tue, 15 Nov 2011 19:40:39 -0800

San Francisco 49ers RB Frank Gore (knee) might not be pushed in Week 11 against the Arizona Cardinals, although fantasy owners hope for otherwise. He has 96 or more rushing yards four times in his past six meetings with the Cardinals, and he has 10 rushing touchdowns and a receiving score over his past nine games with Arizona.

he also broke his hip against them last year

How long are your traditions normally? Frank Gore had a strong end of season run as recently as 2009.

IMO "rested" means 10-12 touches vs a typical 20+ workload. Its all coachspeak though. If the game is on the line, Gore will be in there.

I expect to see the typical gore/hunter split throughout the first half and then 2nd half usage will depend on the score.

If you have Gore... Start him!

Recent tradition I suppose.
