Frank Gore ranking this week (1 Viewer)

Gore ranked by Dodds pretty high in comparison to other services. With a tough match up in the Ravens and a QB change, I think he'd be hard pressed to match that ranking this week. As a Gore owner, I'd love it of course, but after watching the 49er offense against these other tough Ds the past couple weeks, I just don't see it. Anyone have a guess/insight as to why Dodds would rank Gore that high?

Great question. Bump.

All I can imagine is they have a week of Dilfer running with the first team. That he won't be as bad as he was last week. That maybe the 49ers D will cause some turnovers in the ravens zone which could put Gore in scoring position without having to bulldoze downfield the whole night. This could lead to a low rushing yards but a chance of at least 1 rushing TD. The dink and dunk through the night in the pass game could bring up total yards also.

Outside of that, i dunno. I am up in the air on starting him also.

its a 3.5 line, 35.5 over.low scoring game, but probably because both offenses are inept right now.

the thinking would be that the Niners will look to run a lot more, now that A. Smith is out..Dilfer is lousy.

just have him hand the ball off to Gore, and thats it. thats probably the way the game plan will play out..

I'm not expected much from Gore myself (have him in 2 of 3 leagues), but with the way running backs have been doing he could do just as well as any other. The difference will be if he gets a short TD.

Really though, the Ravens defense is looking average.

Bart Scott isn't doing well replacing Adalius Thomas. Ray Lewis looks like he doesn't have "it" anymore, and Trevor Pryce is banged up with the wrist injury.

In my opinion, it seems as if the Baltimore front seven is not as intimidating as they were before. Ngata is still a good run stuffer but as a whole, they lost a step.

Ravens are giving up just 71 ypg though, which looks solid through 4 weeks, 3 ypc average is stout too.

If I were to say that San Francisco would get on the scoreboard, I would bet my money on Gore getting them there, not Dilfer to Jackson or Dilfer to Battle.

65 (85 total) yards and a score would help me out with Gore, and he should be able to attain that this weekend.

I have Gore pretty high too - I believe the offense will run through him, and he's good enough to produce with that kind of pressure. He notched 121 total yards last week in a week that saw his QBs treated like pinatas. I do think the offense will run better this week, and he's also getting more looks in the passing game as some others have pointed out.

Gore is still a borderline uberstud - he has the talent that can only be held back for so long.

Dilfer at QB, WR's hurting besides not great anyway, star TE out until week7, Gore is their only hope. Problem is they play Ravens..I'm benching him this week 5, after the bye week 6 gets a tad better (I hope).

...at least it SHOULD run through Gore. Doesn't seem like the offensive game plan is working Gore into the passing game very well.

Seriously, who thought Gore would have a good day against Baltimore today? I'm a huge Gore lover, but having him ranked as high as he was, just crazy

God bloom I am a hugh Gore fan, but I fear his season and talent will be waisted this year. I hope they turn it around out there in the Bay but man, I get this creepy thought that Gore is gonna try a little too hard and get broken.

obviously since I started this thread I had my doubts. But like most who have Gore, drafted him early (#4) so I had to stick with him. I didn't see much of the game, I wonder if he came close to scoring

:thumbup:Gore won't equal his rushing yards from '06 IMO. But could be of great value in PPR leagues still (though only 11 catches, I know he's been targeted a # of times). Dilfer dumps off at will.
