Frank Gore's concussion? (1 Viewer)

Any SanFran homers that can provide some input on his situation? I know he left the game late third quarter and stayed on the sidelines for the rest of it. I need this guy to be ok. My other RB's are Jordan and the Denver backfield...ehh.

Concussions take time to see how they respond. You'll have to wait it out a few more days. AFAIK, he hasn't had one before and that helps.

49ers head coach Mike Nolan told the Associated Press that Frank Gore missed snaps late in Sunday's win due to a "mild concussion."Gore left briefly in the third quarter, returned for one or two carries, then had to leave again after getting "his bell rung," as Nolan described it. Gore was holding his head at times on the sidelines, so his injury was obviously causing him some pain or discomfort. He appears likely to be on next week's injury report. Nov. 12 - 6:33 pm et
Doesnt sound too bad

Thats funny. My only backup RB is Jordan.Anyway, Hicks got most of the work so it appears he may be the handcuff. Robinson just doesnt look like anything special to me. He runs hard but he runs right into defenders & makes no cuts.

Hicks?! Crap! I overpaid bigtime earlier this year to get Robinson as the handcuff. What happened to all the buzz around Robinson

Probably because from most accounts the concussion was 'mild', whatever that means. However, I could have sworn Gore had another 'mild' concussion earlier this season. That is concerning because concussions supposedly are cummulative.

I don't think Hicks is anything special, either....plus he got very lucky Sunday with a few calls (1st down spot, non-fumble). Hicks, IMO, is a far better reciever out of the back field than runner. In a dynasty, I go Robinson. Redraft, meh, Hicks I guess.Everything I've read today seems to point towards the team thinking Gore will be good to go this weekend. I'm sure we'll all know by Wed/Thurs.

Someone who was watching mentioned Gore was laughing and smiling down the stretch...we all know Gore has rocks for brains, so he should be ok.

yeah, yeah I know he has a learning disability but he still goes into everything head first. If he doesn't have a problem with it, why should I.

Go Go Gore

(KFFL) Matt Maiocco, of the Press Democrat, reports San Francisco 49ers RB Frank Gore (concussion) suffered a mild concussion Week 10. Gore's injury is not considered serious and the team is hopeful he can play Week 11.

Take it for what its worth. I might consider picking up hicks for a game.

sounds like he partook in individual drills yesterday, no team activities...according to NFL network.

Hoping he's good to go.

I don't like the "hopeful" part.

I do like the "not considered serious" part.

 Agreed, but it's all uncertain at this point all the same. And here I thought that it would be an easy decision to start Gore over Betts this week as my RB2. :wall:

This is all just plain jibber jabber. If you got him plug him in, he'll definitely play.
I`ve been boxing for 27 years and i have had my share of concussion's,if it`s mild it`s absolutely NO big deal,i have sparred the day after getting my bell rung pretty good and never had a problem.

Update:

Nolan's Notebook: Nov. 16

RE: Frank Gore and Vernon Davis’s status:

“Frank went through individual drills and did a little bit of 7-on-7. He didn’t do too much with the team but he’ll do more tomorrow. He’ll still be questionable, but we’ll see how he does tomorrow. Vernon will also be questionable. He did individuals, and a little bit of the scout team. Both of them are moving around very well. Vernon will be a game time decision, and as far as Frank, tomorrow will be a big indicator.”
