No. But very good career, one of the top backs in the league at his best.HOF?
Fragile Freddie was actually pretty durable.13 seasons, 11,695 rushing yards (15th all time).
Once we was past his prime though. Most of his problem was trying to go full bore with such a low body fat percentage for that portion of his career. I believe it was right around 3% and simply too low to absorb the punishment he took.Fragile Freddie was actually pretty durable.13 seasons, 11,695 rushing yards (15th all time).

Taylor still has a house in Jacksonville, but he likely will retire in South Florida where he can watch his son play high school football. Kelvin Taylor, a junior at Glades Day School, has turned heads since making the varsity team as an eighth-grader. He is less than 2,500 yards shy of the state's career rushing record of 8,804 yards (Emmitt Smith) and has become one of the most coveted recruits in the country.

HOF talent for sure, but not a HOF player. Edgerrin James may get the same label, although James has a stronger case than Taylor thanks to his four 1,500 yard seasons: http://www.pro-football-reference.com/play-index/psl_finder.cgi?request=1&match=total&year_min=1920&year_max=2011&season_start=1&season_end=-1&age_min=0&age_max=99&draft_round_min=0&draft_round_max=99&league_id=&team_id=&is_active=&is_hof=&pos_is_qb=Y&pos_is_rb=Y&pos_is_wr=Y&pos_is_te=Y&pos_is_rec=Y&pos_is_t=Y&pos_is_g=Y&pos_is_c=Y&pos_is_ol=Y&pos_is_dt=Y&pos_is_de=Y&pos_is_dl=Y&pos_is_ilb=Y&pos_is_olb=Y&pos_is_lb=Y&pos_is_cb=Y&pos_is_s=Y&pos_is_db=Y&pos_is_k=Y&pos_is_p=Y&c1stat=rush_yds&c1comp=gt&c1val=1500&c2stat=&c2comp=gt&c2val=&c3stat=&c3comp=gt&c3val=&c4stat=&c4comp=gt&c4val=&order_by=pass_tdTaylor, James and Corey Dillon were phenomenal backs and had those moments where you just couldn't stop them. But I think all failed to have HOF careers, and you can't necessarily pin that failure on them.Chase if you had a vote, would you vote Taylor into the HoF?
Who has he outproduced, aside from non-contemporaries from the pre-merger era? He's 15th all time. How can you justify not having him the hall when he outproduced many who are in the hall with a worse supporting cast to boot.
Not HoF.Taylor was always a notch below Dillon, who was a notch below James. It will be a shame if Edge doesn't get into the HOF. From 1999 to 2007, no player in the league had more rushing yards than Edge, no player had more yards from scrimmage, and only 3 players had more TDs (LaDainian, Priest Holmes, and Shaun Alexander).
Im surprised Edge outrushed LT during those years, especially since I remember Edge missed at least half a season one of those years.Taylor was always a notch below Dillon, who was a notch below James. Edge had a 2-year head start during that timeframe. If you compared Edge's first 9 seasons to Tomlinson's first 9 seasons, LT had 883 more rushing yards and 61 (!) more TDs.'Kenny%20Powers said:Im surprised Edge outrushed LT during those years, especially since I remember Edge missed at least half a season one of those years.Taylor was always a notch below Dillon, who was a notch below James.
