I'm not sure what is appropriate to say regarding emailed FBG rankings, but I am very intrigued by the rankings of FT vs. MJD for the Oakland game. I had previously decided to go with FT because he's on a roll, and now I'm second guessing myself based on the FBG rankings.
In favor of FT
- Has been getting the most carries recently
- Has significantly outperformed MJD recently, even getting the TDs
- Was snubbed as an pro-bowler prior to the FWP injury
- Reports on this board mentioned the players want FT to have a big game in Oakland due to said snub
In favor of MJD
- Has typically gotten the goal-line work, and Oakland has given up 21 rushing TDs
- May get increased work this week if Jacksonville jumps out to a lead to keep FT fresh for the playoffs
- FT is no longer a probowl snub, maybe this motivation is gone for both him and the team
- MJD seems due for some good stats, against a favorable match-up
On the TDs, I realize Taylor has had a couple long runs, but has he also gotten redzone runs of late? Any homers who can comment on that? Thinking through this, it does seem as if it would be advantageous to have a guy with 40 yards rushing/40 yards receiving and 2 TDs vs. a guy with 110 yards rushing. But we haven't seen those numbers from MJD lately.
