Hiya -

It is now time to enroll for YouthFantasyFootball.com's 2008 season. As always, membership in YouthFF is no-cost and limited to ages 10 to 18.

To join, please contact me for enrollment. Do feel free to invite a friend to share a league with you, too. There will be no lag time this year. Drafting will begin as soon as the league is filled. Please send your first + last name, age (as of Sept 01), your e-mail address, and team name (limit 12 characters) to me.

TC - I have noticed that you have done this for many years now, and I wanted to say keep up the good work!

I think that it's great to get kids involved and I wanted to let you know that your efforts are not going unnoticed.

Can I reserve a slot for my son..... for four years from now?

He's already looking over my shoulder....

Good stuff TC, as always.

My son started this last year and had a blast with it. He had been asking me when signup was when my dynasty rookie drafts started, so he will definately be there.

Thank you for putting this out there for our kids.

How do you prevent people from lying about thier age?

I can see a good amount of people on these boards trying to get in no matter what thier age is.

That's funny. I mean if you get some excitement out of beating 10 year olds, then you have serious issues.

In 11 past seasons, it has not been a noticed problem. Outdrafting middle-school kids is not a real popular online passtime. Young adults often have their sites pointed other directions. On several occiations, we have had some 'adult' comments exchanged. When that happens, I drop the child after a quick warning. There is no benefit of allowing hostile or adult content in YouthFF. Other than that, I pretty much let them enjoy the hobby to the depth they prefer -- Some are very active. Others are lax, which is fine, too.

Hey TC,

Post your email address so that I can signup my son.

He's 12 years old. And you could use joe_lagarde@yahoo.com as his email. Let me know what's up.

Awesome! I forwarded this info to one of my leaguemates. He sort of "co-owns" his team with his son. The kid's always wanted to try something on his own. This looks spectacular. Great thing you're doing here.

My son has been playing for two years now... this will be his third season. He's 13. I started him on fantasy football when he was in 5th grade & I did a statistics project for his advanced math class. I'll be starting my 5th year doing that at that school (my daughter will be a 6th grader this year). But my son has really enjoyed having his own team. What TC runs is an 8-team league, so it's easy for the kids to draft players they know & care about! Thanks, TC!

Yes, next thing you know, we'll have 10 year olds in the Shark Pool chatting up their fantasy teams. Won't that be wonderful?

Fantasy Football is for ADULTS. Anyone pushing fantasy football on kids is doing them a huge dis-service. Kids should be out playing real football and not obsessing over meaningless fantasy teams.

My twelve year old has the attention span of a fly. He'll set his lineup and maybe watch the games a little more than he usually does, and that's it. If this helps us spend an extra moment or two together, then "dis-service" on! Thanks again TC; he's really excited.

:goodposting: You're kidding, right? Nobody is "pushing" fantasy football on kids; merely giving them a chance to play and to learn how to play the right way. I think it's awesome that TC takes the time and energy to run this every year.

This opinion won't be popular here, but

Leagues are filling very fast. It's (almost) now or never for 2008 youth enrollment.

I hope you are kidding. TC has done a great job running these leagues for kids and I think it is a great way for kids to follow the NFL. Guess what, kids can be out playing real football and watching the NFL to follow their fantasy players. My son has enjoyed the leagues that TC runs and he is a class act. Thanks for everything you do, TC!

 fishing or idiocy? You make the call.LOL @ "Fantasy Football is for ADULTS" - yeah I'm sure we all feel so adult when we chuckle about a stupid draft pick made by someone else or rant about "our" RB not scoring a TD on Sunday :lmao:
