G Men after McGahee (1 Viewer)

So other than his age, there is not a major difference between Willis McGahee and Thomas Jones of the Bears.
Not really. Jones seems like a much better fit for NYG since he's such a well rounded player(and compliment to Jacobs) but I question if CHI would trade him to make a conference rival stronger.

All depends upon the draft pick(s) and or player they get in return. How about Briggs and Thomas Jones for Shockey and two first rounders?

It would probably have more to do with draft picks than players and at this juncture as a Bears fan wouldn't you consider this your "window"? I would be hard pressed to make my team weaker for a draft pick if I felt I should be considered one of the favorites for the superbowl next year and that's discounting the fact that RB's haven't been generating a lot of compensation in terms of draft picks.

so if a trade goes on with McGahee to the Giants, what happens to A-train? does he become the starting RB in Buffalo?

he looked good at times last season.

My guess is they'd draft a RB in round 1 or 2. The next step would be letting them compete for the starting job like they did with JP last year.

I thought Adrian Peterson, was the only first round Rb going on draft dayWho else can the Bill sdraft as a top RB?

LYNCH

I think he'd be a great fit running style wise. And as a Buffalo fan would be stoked. But do you think he'd want to play in Buffalo though? I've seen Lynch it written from interviews how he's an Oakland guy. I'd hate to see another McGahee situation.

I'm sure everybody wants to play for a specific team or area but how often do any of the players get their wish?

The Giants can't be THAT stupid.

"Willis literally didn't know what to do on the plays," a source said. "After the play was called, we'd have another coach signaling to Willis what to do because he didn't know. He'd miss blocks [in pass protection] a few times, not because he was beat, but because he didn't know what he was doing.

:lmao:
"He just doesn't study. … His teammates noticed it, and it affected how they viewed him in the locker room."
This can't be good either. One more thing that Giants don't need is another distraction in the locker room. Ok, Tiki shot his mouth off last year when he should've kept it shut, but at least he backed it up with smart, hard play on the field.

Regardless of the ramifications of Reese's disclosure, a trade for McGahee isn't very likely because Reese said he won't part with a first-day draft pick in a trade -- even though Reese said the Bills haven't placed a specific price tag on McGahee.NJ.comDoubt the Bills are going to let go of McGahee for anything less than a 1st day pick.

I love these off-season rumors. Per KFFL:

Giants | Interested in Bell?Sun, 25 Feb 2007 20:27:15 -0800Mike Garafolo, of the Star-Ledger, reports the New York Giants will "investigate everybody out there with the trade talk," according to general manager Jerry Reese. "We'll leave no stone unturned as far as that goes." Denver Broncos RB Tatum Bell is considered one possibility.

That is a pretty wild rumor but it does make some sense for both the Giants and Broncos. Bell would be a good runner between the 20's to compliment a guy like Jacobs and there are a lot of possible FT RB cantidates floating around out there for DEN.... not that they need a great cantidate to do well in that system anyway.

What about the Falcons , they said they needed a power running game ( Dunn or the other 150pounds back ) wont cut it , McGahee would be a option.

That s BS .
Care to offer any insight as to why you believe that? And PFT made a good point. The Bills could file tampering charges against the Giants for the comment that was made. Teams are not allowed to comment on players under contract with other teams, even if the player is being shopped in a trade. And, IMO, the Bills SHOULD press tampering charges. Just releasing this information out there like this drives the price down for McGahee and probably makes him more disgruntled about being in Buffalo under his current contract.

I believe it.See the Bills offseason post.

He acts like he does not know the situation on the football field. I cited one example where he could have easily gotten a first down against SD but instead tried to juke and got tackled forcing a punt.

He also stated in an interview last year he did not know what down it was on a play.

It was a 4th down play, he said in the post game interview he thought it was a 3rd down play. Later he backtracked saying he said that so the reporters would end the conversation. :loco:

Not Smart
