Game of Thrones, tv only, books don't exist, no backstory...NERDS already ruining a series that hasn't started (17 Viewers)

The last 2 episodes of S4 will be coming in late January to select IMAX theaters along with the trailer for the new season. They haven't announced which theaters yet.
I don't think I need to see what happened to Oberyn Martell in IMAX. :X
You won't. That was the third to last episode.
yeah, you're right. whew. was it the first episode of the season when the Viper and his chick went into the brothel to line up some h00rs? let's see that one instead.

I watched season 1 about a year ago then started binge watching two weeks ago so I apologize if this has been asked or talked about already ....

Why isn't Tyron Lanister the King?

Oh and the little Stark girl rolling with the Hound might be my favorite character.

Why would he be?

First in line after Robert Baratheon was Joffrey. Second was the younger brother.

He has no legitimate claim. Remember people thought Joffrey was the son of Robert (drunk King from S1).

Well, technically it was Stannis, then Renley.

But yeah, Tyrion has nothing to do with it. In the GOT system, Joffrey is a Baratheon, not a Lannister. He never appears in Baratheon colors really because the Lannisters are such egotistical d-bags (and, you know, his mom knows he's not a Baratheon and probably dresses him).

Started this on hbogo. First king just died so 6 episodes in i think.

can't tell yet if i like it.
You are just getting to the good stuff. The last 4 episodes of S1 are top notch. Also don't read this thread or anything on the net, there are major spoilers everywhere. Pay best attention as possible to it, there are a lot of characters- some seem minor but become important as the series goes on.

I'm ok with spoilers. And since it's been such a phenomenon I've seen bits and pieces here and there (I know what the Red Wedding is for example).

I'm in the middle of season 2 and just finished the episode where someone (I don't know yet) stole Dany's dragons. I think that is 5 in, maybe 6. So I have the second half of season 2 to go still. But at this point, my observations:

Ed Stark was the best character in the show. Still. His younger daughter is right behind him. None of the people vying to be king are of any entertaining value to me at this point. They all are kinda meh. The Lannisters are massively entertaining though, and Tyrion (the dwarf? whatever his name is) is right behind theyounger Stark girl as the best character. And after him there isn't anyone close yet. I go back and forth with Dany. Her arc of being married and falling in love with the guy wasn't well developed, but I'm sure it was in the books. She just kinda went from hating it to loving it. Although she is playing the unsure leader role fairly well.

I've enjoyed the overall political rivalry arc that is running through the actual game of thrones and how the nobel families deal with each other. The mystic stuff with Stannis' red head is going to annoy me I think. I'd rather it be more political intrigue than World of Warcraft, but I'm allowing for a little fantasy. Oh, and the whole Night's Watch, guys in black, Jon Snow and that entire story line is not enjoyable for me at all. I find myself wanted to fast forward through those scenes.

B so far.

I know. I'm in lust with HBOGo. I'm going to watch just about everything on there because I can, there are no commercials, and I can watch an entire show instead of having to wait. GoT was next on the list after Newsroom.

I will say this about the show. It has me thinking about it which means something. A good show makes you think about it instead of just ingest it for 30 or 60 minutes and then move on. It's just that I've only been invested in 3 characters for a show that has a gajillion. One 1 is already dead. Hoping the other two (younger girl stark and the dwarf) can maintain some staying power.

Just keep chugging on.

To each his own, but try to avoid if possible, the OMG moments help make the show. R.R. Martin was probably a master internet forum troll in a former life.

Season 2 finale.... best episode of the first 20. Perfect amount of everything.

The youngest Stark girl is still amazing but the dwarf is just about perfectly brilliant. . Can't think of good enough accolade. Still not a fan of the north wall story line. Even with snow zombies.

Season 3, episode 1

Solid if unspectacular. Daddy Lanister not giving Tyrion any credit or title was stupid and I'm sure will come back to haunt him. I'm betting at some point Tyrion either allies with an enemy family or kills his father. I'm leaning towards killing his father because it makes the most sense. Still not a fan of anything having to do with the Wall and Jon Snow's story line at all. Joffrey can't die soon enough. The new to-be-queen is going to get her throat cut if she keeps up being nice to people I'm guessing. Sansa making a deal with the brothel owner is a mistake... I can't tell still if I like her character though. Completely clueless and ditzy so if she starts getting smarter somehow I hope it's believable.

I think this thread started at about episode 8 or 9 of season 3 so I'm almost caught up to the beginning here. Enjoy the show. Hoping Lannis tries another invasion soon just so we can get rid of Joffrey (who is a fun character and the kid is doing a great job of making him hated so much you root for his death. So it doesn't have to be fast but it better get there at some point. And take his mother with you. Can't stand her either).

I'm at about S3 E6 (Dany just got her army, and the order she gave them was one of the sexiest moments in the show). Everyone has been correct - it keeps getting better.

Still not a fan of Jon Snow and that whole story line. Which seems to be really messed up at this point.

Maybe. I'll catch up before the next season starts.

Did not expect what has happened to Jamie at this point. That was interesting.

Listened to the first two episodes of commentaries from the blu-rays for season 4. I wish they limited the people commenting per episode or edited so there was some semblance of direction. Pedro Pascal basically seemed disinterested and it would have been better had he done his commentary as Oberyn or Inigo.

I agree, he knows nothing. Jon Snow gets kinda important and kinda interesting, Actually Jon is the main piece in arguably the best scene of the series.

Unlike most I am fully willing to admit I have no idea what the hell possibly went over my head. I was agreeing with the you know nothing post.

Please enlighten me.
