Game of Thrones, tv only, books don't exist, no backstory...NERDS already ruining a series that hasn't started (10 Viewers)

So he's going to be able to train Arya on how to become a shapeshifter?
Faceless Man
I know the name but it's basically a shapeshifter. I didn't think that was something that could be taught or does he see the ability in her much like Bran being a Warg?
Assumed something like this. Also cant remember- did he overhear her saying her "hit list"?

I love the character, but always wondered why this basass assassin ended up being locked in the dungeons and on his way to the wall to begin with.

Also, hoping this face shifter thing doesn't turn into it being a bunch of characters we have met and have left behind. Maybe Hotpie, the Hound, the ship captain, her sword instructor, the Queen of Thorns, and Sansa's friend were all the same guy!!! Could be really stupid if done wrong.
Yeah, GPJ bring up the teacher is what got me thinking about it. I could see him being a Faceless Man. He was from Bravos.

I have a theory - but it probably belongs in the book thread (I may have posted it there already). Granted, we are talking about Season 1 here but some people get really upset about book discussion.

Hmmm.. Didn't think of that. It would certainly fit my string of thoughts that he was watching her for awhile and put himself in a position to be in her life. Interesting.

It almost seems like a certainty now. We didn't see him die, although Meryn Trant is still alive. Looking back to find his quote "The First Sword of Braavos does not run."

A little conflict there.

Although, maybe Trant ran away. A great quote from the Hound was "any boy whore with a sword could beat three Meryn Trants" Damn, I love The Hound. Such great lines.

I wouldn't be shocked if Hound is still alive. I actually hope he is.
It can't be discounted. I also wonder about Arya's teacher.
I think I believe this now...good call.
It would be pretty cool if it turns out that he was the teacher, and the boat captain, and himself, and once she starts her training it turns out that he is the only faceless man in the house of black and white and the entire story of the house is all made up because one faceless man can be so powerful and he wants her to take over.

I like it. Ayra has run across a lot of random people in her travels. Maybe no test was needed if he has been keeping tabs.

Or it could be a red priestess thing and they can just see into their hearts or something.

Yeah - granted we could all be seeing this where nothing is there - but I like this a lot too. Arya is character 1A behind Tyrion anyway so this just adds to her character and story line a lot more.

So, he was the teacher. He tells her to run, we don't see him die and in this show that means something, then she is next with the criminals getting taken to the wall so he gets himself captured to be there to look over her and test her, she frees him, passes that test, he then is her hitman to see how she would use her power to kill, even though it's him and not her killing yet, he's ok with her targets and the reasons why, she goes off he is waiting for her on the boat to Braavos as the Captain, takes her to the house.... and so on. It works.

Again, so powerful he was on his way to the wall?

I guess what I could see is that they have a code of some sort and Arya needs to let her list go. They are badass, but only kill certain people maybe.

I like it except for the getting captured on purpose part, but who knows. Seems a bit risky. Why not mimic the guy gathering the volunteers for the wall or one of the people going voluntarily? I guess this way she has to show compassion along with a desire for vengeance.

Whatever happened to the shadow baby that the Red Witch honked out in the cave?
Isnt that what killed Renley?
Yup. I think I remember her saying that it was only created for that and now it's dead or gone or whatever.
Good thing too. In lesser hands that could be stupid if there are not some rules.

It was a one time thing, but can they do it again and make another one? Does she need to recharge? Is it one and done with Stannis, but make one with someone else?

Speaking of her, she seems to be eyeballing Jon. I guess word gets around he can tame the fire crotch.

Speaking of Jon Snow. How about this ending for him.

Stannis eventually does make him a Stark. He is now in control of the Night's Watch, the wildlings eventually come to follow him, and he is the Lord of Winterfell and all the houses of the North that support Stark support him. Let's also assume that somehow he gets to control Stanni's army and holdings. So he has the Baratheon family behind him, the Starks, everyone loyal to the Starks, the Nightswatch, the wildings and everyone else in his path as he eventually invades Kings Landing in order to unify the entire realm including the wildings and all people's of the west once and for all with a final ultimate battle when winter finally comes against all the walkers and whatever and he destroys the wall.

Haven't figured out Dany yet. Maybe he marries her or something. I don't know. I'm just spitballing.

I think the fall of the Lannisters is going to be sort if like the fall of Hitler. You're going to have factions coming at them from different directions, Jon Snow/Stark and the wildlings in the north and Daenerys and her Dragons in the south who has made Dorne her allies. The begin to battle each other at Kings Landing and then are forced to unite against the White Walkers. Bran takes control of the dragons and slays the white walkers. Both Jon Snow and Daeny are killed in the battle. Bran ends up on the throne at the end with Tyrion as the hand as he will show up somewhere in there and make a pivotal difference as well.

I could see that. I was also thinking about a halfway decent way to get Dany into the main story from the east.

Have her basically conquer the entire east including and most importantly - Bravos and the Iron Bank. With that she controls the west anyway. So when she finally comes ashore on the west the Lannisters are crumbling anyway. Maybe Arya teams up with her because it helps her deal with her enemies in the west. They come to shore just as Jon and his guys are getting to Kings Landing at the same time. The Lannisters and everyone else that deserves to die actually die and then Jon and Arya and Dany and Sam and his girldfriend have tea.

I like your theory Yankee. The thing that makes me nervous is in this world it seems the more noble characters dont seem to get the rewards.

I guess i am expecting a bitter sweet ending. Maybe there is an epic battle with white walkers, etc where some good characters sacrifice themselves for the realm and have just about everything destroyed, just to have someone we don't like (Littlefinger maybe) step out of the shadows and get to the throne.

In between me trying to figure out the general story here I keep trying to remember the real War of the Roses. The internet abounds with the connections obviously, and Littlefinger is playing the role of Thomas Cromwell for the most part. Cromwell has a similar real life backstory to Littlefinger as well as a similar rise to power during that time in England. He eventually arrainged a particular marriage that he thought would help the realm and his own need for increasing power, but the marriage was seen as treason and Cromwell was eventually tried and convicted and executed and the marriage annulled.

So, you know. Since Littlefinger is doing this thing where he is talking about bringin Sansa to a particular marriage.........

Book spoilers allowed in here now???

Plus his wife makes Gilly look like Scarlet Johanson.....and while we're on Gilly....

( I don't know if I ranted here before...if so forgive me)

Gilly is the biggest "Seaward Matriarch" this side of the Narrow Sea....All Samwell does for her is:

1) Get her away from her rapey dad

2) Kills a White Walker for her. Saving her and her ******* son.

3) Gets her on the good side of the Wall

4) keeps the Rapey Crow contingency from raping her.

5) Gets her a job at a whore house where not only does she not have to whore....but he HAS TO PAY the woman for Gilly to be able to clean up after the whores.

5) Helps her survive a Wildling assault on The Wall...

6) Some how puts her in a position where ROYALTY is teaching her how to read.....

and all this ##### does is chip away at him....complaining that he's leaving her, making fun of him not training....ball busting him for being interested in reading about "Ostrich" Stark....all while never even having to give up the nappy dugout to him......Man.....she's got some balls.
Not to get all Dr. Phil, but you could argue she's pushing him to a potential he never would have sniffed without her
