Game of Thrones, tv only, books don't exist, no backstory...NERDS already ruining a series that hasn't started (5 Viewers)

So Tywin basically xeroxes (Mace fetch my quill and papyrus) Robert's pardon to Jorah, and that's all it takes to split khaleesi and him?

Not thrilled with that but so it goes

The fight was like a flat circle. Nobody really won. Even if the Mountain won he is eventually goign to die one day so cant we say every fight essentially ends in a draw.

Not sure. He was her best friend. Think many would react the same if they learned their best friend was scheming behind their back for the 1st year of their relationship.

I think the only rule of fight club is if your champion dies, the gods have judged you guilty. There are no draws, or moral victories. Either you and your champion walk out together, or you leave about a head shorter.

Danarys seemed to be past forgiveness when he revealed that he informed Robert on her pregnancy, which led to the assassination attempt.

Im sure I could draw up 1000 questions to nit pick at this show, but one just hit me tonight.

Why in the world are there only 102 men of the nights watch? They are getting scores of recruits every few weeks it seems just from guys who want to duck a crime. Sure some die and some probably dont pan out but they would become the cooks. When they were smuggling out Arya Stark they had what seemed like 10-15 new recruits didn't they?
I thought when jon first got to the wall, there was only 200-300 guys there, if that. since then, many have died ranging, during the first mutiny at crasters and during the second fight at crasters.

don't know why you think people are going there all the time. about the only "group" we saw heading there was the one ayra was in, and of the 20 recruits they were able to scrape up in kings landing, 0 made it there.

one of the main threads is how woefully undermanned the wall is and how that threat north of the wall should be much more worrisome than who sits on the throne.
I can see it both ways with the wall. It does seem like criminals are given the opportunity to go to the wall, maybe most opt out but I would think there would be plenty of criminals in Westeros.

For me the difficult part to understand is how much communication, or lack thereof, is going on between the wall and King's Landing. I would think someone might want to mention to Tywin that an army of 100,000 wildlings is marching on the wall and maybe ask for some reinforcements.

Why does everyone seem to think The Mountain is dead?
He got stabbed deeply into the stomach and Oberyn was afraid he'd die before he got his confession? I mean its not a lock but thats a fatal wound without surgery.
Yeah, but in regards to the actual fight. He was still alive when the guy he was fighting was killed. Why would anyone think that it would matter if The Mountain died a day, an hour or even a couple of minutes AFTER Oberyn died?

They did. They sent crows to every person of influence in Westeros. Do you not remember the letter Davos gave to Stannis that basically saved him from being executed for helping Gendry escape?

People are looking for a way for Tyrion to get out of this. If the Mountain's lying there dead, id prolly call it a draw. Mountain wins style points but really got schooled for 95% of the battle.

Tie goes to the one who dies last

Pretty sure they asked everyone for reinforcements...

They might want to send a couple more. Seriously, there is an army of 100,000 marching on the wall and there is a large band of wildlings confirmed to be on the south side of the wall. They might want to ask again.

I am having a hard time buying the Mountain be able to do that after getting the #### kicked out of him/stabbed through the gut. Or to be able to just lie completely motionless there.

Go bench some weights, then have someone stab you through the gut, then try to bench the same amount of weight. I bet you can't do it.

What was the deal with Sansa coming out at the end and looking all hot and slutty in the black dress? And why black? Felt like a statement scene but I couldn't figure out exactly what message it was supposed to convey. She's a grown up now? She's a little ruthless now? She "turned"? Other?
didn't her hair color change too?my take was that she knows her best chance in life right now might be to ride it out with littlefinger. she might be taking more control of her situation by trying to look more like the one woman littlefinger claims he loved.
she might be in "mourning" for her aunt?
sure, but the scene right before that was a discussion about figuring out what littlefinger wants. I dont think it was an accident that she comes out looking a bit like catlyn and cutting to littlefinger looking like his pants might split open. my reading of the scene anyway.

I always thought it was kind of convenient that the other guy, the one who got kicked out of Joffrey's Kings Guard or whatever, happened to find Daenarys and the bunch right before the assassination attempt with the kid and the ball and the insect thing coming out of it. He got there just in time to help foil that plan. Now he's the dude who gets handed the pardon and moves a notch closer to Daenarys with Mormont gone. Could that whole thing about the Lannisters throwing him out of the Kings Guard be a ruse and he's really just a plant in Daenarys's camp? The Lannisters could have sent him there to be their eyes and ears since the Mormont guy had seemingly stopped spying for Varys/the Lannisters.

Agreed. On a related note, what's the deal with the Red Witch birthing a black murderous ghost a couple seasons ago? Shouldn't have it been white, or at least red?

It was explicitly stated in the books that ghost demon babies have a recessive gene that makes them all black.

SPOILERS!

She's not a virgin anymore. That's basically it imo. She's now a puppet to Littlefinger.
Interesting.

I think season 1 sansa would have narced out littlefinger. I think last night was the first time we saw sansa playing the game. maybe I am giving her too much credit, but she seemed to be making choices for once.

she might be the one person in westeros who could manipulate littlefinger. if she is smart enough to is another story.

That was the best acting job yet by the girl who plays Sansa.

I loved when Theon was just about to crack and revert to Reek and in the next scene they guy that saved him from it was flayed.

wow, I was dumbstruck for like 10 minutes after the show ended. I liked the Oberyn character, and I figured that if he died then at least he might die with some dignity. I was wrong in spectacular fashion. yikes. still gotta figure Tyrion finds some way out of this.

other thoughts:

- I kinda like this new Mountain. let's find some more skulls for him to crush.

- Arya laughing was hilarious. foiled again, Dog.

- I think the last scene with Sansa indicates that she is taking control of her own destiny for once and making a move. she spent a long time with Cersei, and there's probably no one better to learn sneaky woman trickery from, even indirectly.

- the Bolton storyline doesn't do much for me, but I did find it interesting that Roose basically said "see all this North? it's ours, and we're unchallenged." I still don't see them as a power player, though.

I am amazed Davos didn't go back to Stannis and let him know that she'd birthed a black baby. First time in history that wasn't an issue when the expectant father was white.

Isn't Cersei's daughter in Dorn? If so, I'm thinking this may be Tyrion's saving grace if Dorn uses her as a pawn as to why one of it's princes was killed.

I can see Dorne being ticked off, although Oberynn did volunteer, and exploiting the fact they have Myrcella but I am not sure how any of that benefits Tyrion.

All good points. I'm just trying to find something, anything, to convince myself that they can't possibly kill off Tyrion. :)

The best I got is that he's the first name in the opening credits since season 2, then again so was Sean Bean in season 1.

It's tough to imagine killing such a popular character but if any show could manage to come back from that it is GoT.

Now that you mention it, Salladhor Saan was hanging with Stannis around that time. Maybe the witch likes old pirate jokes.

geez guys- he volunteered to be champion. why do you think there will be such an uproar in dorne?
well we also got the confession that the mountain raped and killed oberyns sister. but yea, I doubt there is too much to come from this in regards to dorne

The innocence is gone now with her lie. She's now playing the Game of Thrones.
Also to show mourning. Remember she just outed herself to be a stark (to a few) and to everyone else she was still Littlefinger's niece, and her aunt 'committed suicide' in either case, whether by blood or marriage.

They way Sansa walked in at the end means something...what, I don't know just yet. It was super backlit by the sun and she was dressed as she's never been before. Also did you notice the black feathers on her dress near her neck?? Feathers=bird Littlefinger's personal improvised sigil? Mockingbird.
