Im sure I could draw up 1000 questions to nit pick at this show, but one just hit me tonight.

Why in the world are there only 102 men of the nights watch? They are getting scores of recruits every few weeks it seems just from guys who want to duck a crime. Sure some die and some probably dont pan out but they would become the cooks. When they were smuggling out Arya Stark they had what seemed like 10-15 new recruits didn't they?

I thought when jon first got to the wall, there was only 200-300 guys there, if that. since then, many have died ranging, during the first mutiny at crasters and during the second fight at crasters.don't know why you think people are going there all the time. about the only "group" we saw heading there was the one ayra was in, and of the 20 recruits they were able to scrape up in kings landing, 0 made it there.

one of the main threads is how woefully undermanned the wall is and how that threat north of the wall should be much more worrisome than who sits on the throne.

I can see it both ways with the wall. It does seem like criminals are given the opportunity to go to the wall, maybe most opt out but I would think there would be plenty of criminals in Westeros.For me the difficult part to understand is how much communication, or lack thereof, is going on between the wall and King's Landing. I would think someone might want to mention to Tywin that an army of 100,000 wildlings is marching on the wall and maybe ask for some reinforcements.

They did. They sent crows to every person of influence in Westeros. Do you not remember the letter Davos gave to Stannis that basically saved him from being executed for helping Gendry escape?

Do we know where Stanis is headed now? Could it be the Wall? Not sure how he gets past Bolton but he is the only one that seemed to care about what was going down at the Wall.

This show started out as a show about white walkers at the wall, Dany and her creepy platinum haired brother, Ned Stark and the whole Stark family, including loving brothers Robb Stark, Jon Snow and Theon Greyjoy, Robert Baratheon, Carl Drogo, and oh by the way there's some Lannisters and one of them throws a Stark kid down a couple stories to his death.

Since then, the only guy who died in episode one actually didn't die, he was just crippled and now he can mind control half giants and birds and wolves. The white walkers or whatever that girl with the bright blue eyes was have barely made an appearance. Dany's brother's dead, Ned and his wife are both dead, Robb's dead, Jon Snow knows nothing, Theon's peepee was shipped across the north and summarily thrown out by his father, Robert Baretheon's dead, Carl Drogo's dead, and now it looks like one of the Lannisters might finally die. And you guys are convinced that they couldn't kill him off.

There are definitely ways they could keep him alive. But they're not going to call it a ####### draw.

I thought I read somewhere where one of the writers said that the finale is the equivalent of episode 9 in past seasons. So i expect a really good episode but I think the finale will be the big one.

If the mountain dies from Oberyn's sword, couldn't that be considered a draw? I don't know the official rules of trial by combat.

I would think there has been plenty of cases where both foes sustained injuries and died, one still dies first. It's particularly clear when one dies on the battlefield and the Hand of the King says, "Sorry Tyrion, you lost, prepare to lose your head."

Remember that Kings Landing was disappointed that Oberyn came for the jousting matches when his more important brother was the one invited. I assume he'll show up next season looking for a little revenge for his brother.

What was the deal with Sansa coming out at the end and looking all hot and slutty in the black dress? And why black? Felt like a statement scene but I couldn't figure out exactly what message it was supposed to convey. She's a grown up now? She's a little ruthless now? She "turned"? Other?

The innocence is gone now with her lie. She's now playing the Game of Thrones.

That's more or less how I took it. I also took it to mean she is now fully on team little finger.

Little Finger is on Team Sansa.

Gotta figure Tyrion's saving grace is that the Mountain dies too, ultimately leaving it a draw.

Even if it's a draw, the Red Viper died. And he stood in for Tyrion. So Tyrion is ####ed either way, IMO.

Honestly, with the amount of curveballs from the show, I think it is almost probable Tyrion dies... Majority think he somehow survives, for that reason I think he goes. They always do the opposite of what you expect, since we all expect him to survive, he dies.

I think the opposite. I think so many people expect him to die because it is Game of Thrones, who's not afraid to kill main characters, that it will actually be surprising at this point if he does live.

I stayed out of this thread and binge watched from episode 1 in about 4 days and got caught up two weeks ago. Waiting two weeks and now having to wait another week to find out what happens makes me wish I had just waited to start the binge watching til after season 4 ended. Hell, maybe I should have just waited til they finished all together. Waiting for the next season is going to be torture.

No way the Mountain lives. Blood shot out of his mouth when the spear went through him. That's massive internal bleeding. Plus his lower leg got sliced pretty good. No way he doesn't bleed out in 90 seconds after skull-popping Oberyn.

Eta: which brings up an interesting point - Oberyn may have delivered the fatal blow first, even though he died first. Food for thought.
