It seems obvious that leeches is fine to kill individual people but we're talking about winning a battle here. Someone has to burn. I think other burnings were punishment ,since no king's blood was involved, garden variety human sacrifice. Just letting the Lord of light know your still on board.

I think that bran is going to warg into someone, besides Hodor when he finally becomes the old man down the road. The key being vicinity to those fancy tree.

I forget in the show, was Mance Rayder considered "king's blood?" Do you just have to declare yourself a king to qualify?

Don't recall if they gave any indication. Though Robert went from not being King to his whole family having royal blood. Maybe it takes others recognizing you as a king?

I'm starting to doubt we see a big clash at Winterfell this season. If there is a battle coming, it will either come next season or be very brief. I just don't see how they have the time to fit something like that in.

One way I could see them wrapping up this arc this season is to have Stannis and Co waltzing into Winterfell and picking up the pieces after Firecrotch unleashes some sort of Deus Ex Machina magic on the Bolten's, which would be highly disappointing but consistent with the story.

Why would that be some big secret that Ned would clam Jon as his. Robert had lots of know bastards.

He doesn't have a lot bastards that had a noblewoman for a mother(that we know of) though. A noblewoman who happened to be a member of the most powerful family in the North at the time. Potentially while he was also already married to a Queen that he was "fathering" descendants with. Even if he(or rather Jamie) hadn't got a kid on Cersei when Jon was born, you think Tywin doesn't stoop to killing a kid he thinks could usurp any future Lannister heirs(particularly since Jon would have actually been Robert's son, not Cersei's incest baby that everyone was pretending was Robert's)? He'd totally do it just to tie up loose ends.

Anyway, if it's been discussed already you can all move along. I don't check in to this thread very often because it's quite frequently an abortion. Carry on.

agreed. snow and the wildlings story arc this season was all about setting up that battle last week with the WWs.

they're going to need time for the Cercei trial and Winterfell stories, along with something quick but crazy for Arya.

given those three, not sure what else the Danys or Jamie and the #####cats stories have to tell this season either.

10TH episodes have traditionally been about dealing with any fall out while putting the characters in the proper place for the next season.....so the battle might not be in the cards.

they've spent a lot of time at castle black this season, something's gotta happen there in the finale. It won't happen I'm sure but I hope Sam gets killed....

I am not so sure that Snow's story is wrapped this season.

I think the writing is on the wall that Stannis is going to get offed by his own troops. Just logistically, between the white walker battle and the dragon scene the budget for this season has got to be way too far gone to fund another battle and I doubt they'd push it off to next year after teasing it since the beginning of this season. They made a point of talking about troop morale and of showing his men being disgusted by the burning of Shireen.

Well the throne is always open to whoever can take it, whether someone is on it or not.

But if you mean with a valid claim of legitimacy, there is an order of succession, that wouldn't be open to just anyone.

I think Myrcella might be next in line. They've been saying that marrying Sansa gives the Boltons a legitimate claim to the north (although whether that's because daughters are in the official line of succession when there are no living sons, or just because the rest of the northern houses are devoted to the Stark family I'm not sure). If not Myrcella, Stannis would be next, and then whatever cousins or nephews or whoever is left in house Barratheon.

Of course, from a practical standpoint anyone can take the throne at any time if they're strong enough, legitimacy be damned.
