Game of Thrones, tv only, books don't exist, no backstory...NERDS already ruining a series that hasn't started (8 Viewers)

Well, at least we see a character die.  Too much off screen stuff the last season or two.  The first couple seasons it seems like everyone was dying, now nobody believes 1/2 the people "killed" are really dead.  John, The Mountain, The Hound, Stannis - anybody else brought back or people think are still running around?
We saw Jon die. I think more so because so many people bought into theories about Jon Snow- that is why there is an expectation that he is brought back. I think it really drives towards your typical story telling- somehow a guy like Jon Snow is always not really dead or brought back or something.... who else is going to save the day? However, I think though Melisandre's comment about seeing him in the flames fighting at Winterfell could still keep the door open. We know the "Lord of Light" has power and even brought back someone (multiple times in fact) but we also know that it is not fool proof as seen by Stannis being dead now.

The Mountain never died. He was dying.

Stannis was confirmed dead in the show last night. Bolton wasn't talking about whether Stannis died or not but that he died. I never thought there was any reason to believe he was not dead but it was not shown so sure, I guess that door was open until last night.

The Hound.... well, he was dying but he could very well be alive too. I am leaning towards he is dead and we never see him again.

I did really enjoy Theon doing something worthwhile. The payoff on his storyline has been a long time coming.
I've been saying for a while that both the Ironborn and the Freys have been underused.  I Figured the Ironborn were all but done with the story once they left Theon for dead, but my guess is they run there next.

I agree that Stannis is dead but I thought Ramsay or his dad commented that they didn't find his body.

I can't see Brienne being on board with going to the Iron Islands with Sansa.

Most likely they head to Castle Black just like Theon said to Sansa.

Outside chance that they head to one of the North strongholds known to be loyal to the Starks. Not sure who that would be. Only one we really know about is the Karstarks and their loyalty is likely questionable. Maybe wherever Mormont was from?

Very small outside trying to think of alternatives chance of Brienne heading home to the Emerald Isle. Most likely just because of distance and the amount of unfriendly territory that would have to be crossed to get there. Plus, I think they basically inferred that their house is a lesser one. Not exactly a place that could not be overrun if found out Sansa is there. Safest place for Sansa is in the North where people know her and have love and loyalty to her family.

Only thing I recall them saying is that they did not know who killed them. I think Bolton would have been on Ramsay about not knowing if Stannis was dead (not having the body) as much as losing Sansa and Theon. Leaving Stannis alive, even though his army was crushed and basically annihilated, would be a big thing.

So GRRM doesn't like men it seems. All the power right now (except for the Boltons) seems to be held by women (Dragon lady, Dorne women, Cersei) or 'different' men (Tyrion, Little Finger, eunuch guy). All the powerful alpha males seem to not last long.

People keep saying that Melisandre will bring back Snow, which she may, but the only person we know has that power is Thoros.

Not a spoiler just an idea

It would be funny, seeing Thoros is on Arya's list, if she crossed him off her list as he was on his way to save Jon Snow

Dany's story is by far the most disappointing in the series.  Really has done jack and #### for a few seasons now, and evidently is going to go live with a bunch of widowed Dothraki hags.  Riveting.  I really hope somebody gets her soon.  Like you said - please not another whole season of her with the Dothraki.
I know the Khal said she needs to go and play Canasta with the rest of the Khal-ettes, but don't you think it more likely she seduces him, and comes roaring back into Mereen with a new Dothraki army to kick some Harpy booty?

:oldunsure:  This is a different take than the hundreds out there about his treatment of women in the series...

Since when is Thoros on Arya's list?

I think John worged into the Dire Wolf.  He'll be back at some point.  I assume in his own body since the actor needs to be get paid.

If Dany is staying in the East for another season I'd rather her character just die and move on to Tyrion being the focal point of the east.  The Dothraki are awesome but enough of her already.  She is going to yet another place now, really?
I imagine she'd only have a small escort to Widowville so Mormont and Daario probably rescue her en route having deduced where she is from the ring she dropped.

LOL writers missed that one then. I thought it was pretty clear with the necklace turning off they wanted us to know that's where her hotness comes from, maybe I'm missing something....
Some dude on reddit explains

"Melisandre still appearing young in the bath scene while not wearing the necklace - The necklace isn't the only thing that can hide her youth. In the same bath scene she reveals to Selyse that she has several potions that are for deceiving people's eyes. Therefore, it is implied that there were potions that also keep her youthful. During the scene where she takes off the necklace, the camera spends several seconds focused in on the potions, I doubt that was just for cinematic effect."

Maybe I missed something, but how did Dany go from blissfully flying away on her dragon last season, to now back in the hands of Dothraki a-holes? Did the dragon buck her off after gorging on bad goatmeat or something?

He was injured and hungry and pretty much ignoring her.  She wandered a bit, the horde descended and the dragon was flossing his teeth.

Davos suggests that Jon Snow has another obvious friend, prompting one of the loyal men to rush out, presumably to get this help.  "Bar the door and don't open it until I come back!"

Who was he going to find?

Presumably the Wildlings and anyone else who owe their lives to Jon.

I'd start with the giant

:lmao:  at some of the questions in here.  It's like half of you don't watch the show.

I thought we would get a somepissed off tommen to start the season, he obviously hasn't been laid in a while now and he was just getting started. How hard could it be to kill off that old ### priest and his crabby nuns.

Old ### Priest and His Crabby Nuns is the name of my all-Latin The Clap cover band.

Agree, but she also get her ### back to Westeros too, or she is going to get as stale as Dany.

Also agree.  Tyrion probably could be in every other scene of the show and it still would be quality.  IMO one of the few interesting characters left.  That said, he is also better when surrounded by people just as smart (or at least conniving).  The Spider is a bit out of his element here, and so far Tyrion doesn't have people to play off of as he did in King's Landing.  So far Mereen has been where good characters and plots go to die.

Yep, IMO this could be the best idea they had for the season - putting this odd crew together.  As much as I like the wall plotline, I do hope this crew ends up somewhere else just for some variety of locations.  I liked it better in the early seasons when characters were spread out more.  Not sure where they would go - maybe they catch word of John's death and head to the Iron Islands or try to find Sansa's uncle?

I am starting to like the wall plot more and more.  Davos is a good addition up there.  I am in the camp that we haven't seen the last of John, in one form or the other.

Dorne was the worst part of last season easily.  I was hoping that they would hear the grumbling from their audience and get away from the Sand Snakes, but evidently they are putting them front and center.  All I want to see out of this story is Jamie and FrankenMountain ride into Dorne and murder them all.

Sansa has a Lannister squire, a knight from a place that is loyal to the Barethons and an Iron Islander Prince helping her......it's like a Westeros UN.
