Caught up, they seem to be consolidating the story lines well without adding any new ones. Seems like shortly will be down to just 3 separate ones.

I think Melisandre believed that the Lord of Light was talking to her and showing her things in the fires until Stannis and Jon dying. She was succumbing to doubt when she said that to Davos -- not that she "knew she was lying" the entire time.

I have a couple questions.
Right now, isn't the throne occupied by a Baratheon? It was Robert, then Joffrey, now Tommen. We know they're not really his, but for purposes of the throne, they're "Baratheon's". Joff is dead, Stannis is dead. If (when) Tommen dies or if it was ever brought to light that Tommen (and Joff) weren't Robert's, then wouldn't Gendry have clear claim to the throne? Or, since he's a *******, would he need to be legitimized before that and who could do that? Isn't it just a Lord (Roose/Ramsey).
I was just thinking that, with somewhat limited time/storyline left, he has to pop back into the picture at some point, right?

Well, we already know that based on the fortune teller's comments to his mother, that Tommen will probably be dying sooner than later. When he does, Gendry's claims will be rather tenuous I'd expect. Not only because he's a *******, but also because of the evidence supporting his claim. At this point, I think the only one who believes that he is Robert's son is LittleFinger. Gendry himself isn't aware. Most of the other people who knew are dead (other than LF and maybe the eunich, I think that Eddard Stark and his crew were the only ones who knew about Gendry).
eta. Forgot the whole Milessandre story line where she tells him his heritage. That adds a number of people who know who he is. But there's no DNA testing so it will still be difficult to accredit him.

also- the funny mercenary sword guy that went with Jamie to Dorn... did he die from that poison/strip-tease? can't remember if they had the miraculous antidote for him or not. if alive, he's still in Dorn jail?

No, Tyene gave him the antidote while in jail. He headed back to King's Landing with Jamie.

Gendry could only be legitimized by the King....and since there would be no king....he couldn't become a Baratheon. I'd imagine that it would have to be some cousin/relation of Robert that we haven't seen or the realm would, upon finding out that there was a Targaryan left, want Dany to rule it.

After the young sand snake showed him her boobs, then had him say she was the most beautiful, she gave him the antidote.
He was brought before the prince who let him free after having the big guard smack him. He was on the boat back to King's Landing.
Of course, I realize that once the boobs came out, most viewers forgot the rest.

Baratheon is in one sense an illegitimate King. There is back story that can dive deeper into why he has a legitimate claim but Targaryen is the true royal lineage. We know of one Targaryen for sure- Dany. Most suspect that Jon Snow is actually Stark/Targaryen with his father actually being Rhaegar Targaryen- the heir to the throne from the Mad King. Judging by the sneak peek- we shall get confirmation of that (or perhaps finally dismissed?) this upcoming episode. Now, I am not an expert on the general rules of royal succession but generally historically bastards (whom Jon would still be even if Rhaegar is his dad) and women (Dany) were basically skipped in line of succession in favor of a true born son but would still have a 'claim' if no other legitimate claimant existed. Martin bases a lot of his writings off of medieval Europe so I would assume he would follow that. Now who would have a stronger claim? Jon or Dany? Well, historically the answer to that is usually whomever has the bigger and/or better army.

It'll be interesting to see how they play the Tower of Joy. I wouldn't be shocked if Bran learns things the viewers do not get to see.

Regardless, I think it's likely you're right. Jon's not likely to have Throne ambitions anyway, so it prob doesn't matter if he's still a *******.

He didn't have Lord Commander ambition really either. He just wanted to be a ranger.
And true, Targaryen's were all about incest and polygamy wasn't a big deal but with polygamy the question is legitimacy with the polygamy. Not sure how that is treated in Westeros.

In the wake of season six's second episode, which featured a young Hodor — then-called Wylis — talking and behaving like a normal (albeit abnormally large) child, the internet has overflowed with theories.
In the comments of a ridiculously contrived Reddit theory about Wylis's transformation into Hodor — we're ruling it out as pretty unlikely, since it involves Hodor being a warg and channeling his consciousness into a horse — a secondary idea about Hodor's background stands out.

I think Hodor doesn't realize he's saying Hodor, but thinks he's actually responding. The actor does a good enough job altering the tone of the word Hodor (and uses facial expressions) to match that of what a normal response would sound like.
