Game of Thrones, tv only, books don't exist, no backstory...NERDS already ruining a series that hasn't started (4 Viewers)

i'm prolly one of the very few who misses Ramsay ... a great show needs great villains, and RB was the baddest of the lot.

 Joffrey/Richie Aprile,  Ramsay/Ralphie Cifaretto, Night King/Phil Leotardo ...
I'm fine with his death, especially how it happened, as long as someone comes in to fill that void.  That might be Euron, but his character has been extremely rushed....and he wasn't even in the last episode, and only had a line or two in the episode before.  Cersei is the big villain now, but she's always been there.

For sure, but Ramsay and Joff are one note villains.  I prefer Tywin, Cersei, The Hound, etc.

There used to be a lot more, are we down to just Cersei for villain? (Besides walkers..)

the lot you referred to have shown some redeeming qualities throughout their arcs ... Tywin/Cersei more pragmatic than sadistic in their evil doings, no?

We have seen the Night King. We have seen Bran. How are they the same people?
I'm totally disgusted with how you people bring facts into the equation.

You probably even had a problem with Bluto when he said, "Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor?"

Saw something on line that purported

Lady Stoneheart
appears in the distance behind Arya in the Brienne swashbuckling scene.  The first time when Arya reminds Brienne of her vow to protect both daughters; the second time shortly thereafter.

There's a wild theory online that Bran is actually the Night King.  The Bran figures out a way to not just view the past, but become a physical presence in the past.  Which is why he is also all of the Brandon Starks in the past.  They talk about him know every winterfell stone better than anyone, this is because he is Bran the Builder and actually built winterfell.  And then he goes back and tries to warn the children of the forest, but because he is a human, and they're at war with the humans, they capture him, and turn him into the Night King.  That scene where he watched how the Night King was created, was watching himself.  Apparently he winces when watching the dragon glass stabbed into the guy (him?), and his physical form mirrors that of the human(him?) tied up in the vision.

Which also fits with GRRM's bittersweet ending.  Having Jon or Arya, having to kill their brother to save the realm. etc etc

Or so that's the theory.

She was onscreen the whole time.  Arya killed all the Frey men.  She became Lady Stoneheart.

Good one.

I like the idea that Brandon is the voice that the Mad King hears; that he tries to contact people in the past who MIGHT have been able to thwart the Others.

Legit spoiler.  Not about the plot, but about something we're apparently going to see this season.

Seems the HBO hackers confirmed something that's been speculated for a while.  Wilf Scolding is on the S7 cast list, cast as Rhaegar.  So at least one more flashback in the offing, it would seem.

lol

They never included Lady Stoneheart in the series, but Arya effectively took her place by doing what Lady Stoneheart was doing in the books - she killed the Frey men.

To me that sounds like you are saying that all drama and all comedy is the same.
That's not at all what I'm saying. When you watch a comedy, you expect to laugh. To watch a drama and not expect drama is ridiculous and an incredible waste of time both watching said drama and then complaining about it.

can't wait to start talking about the next episode and stop talking about whatever it is we've been talking about in here the last couple days.

My schedule is all off at work, as we go live with a new software package at one of our hospitals so it's all hands onsite (2 hours away from home). I worked three 12s and had 2 days off the last 2 days which felt like Sat and Sunday to me. I gotta say, it was a real bummer not having GoT last night. I almost watched episode 4 again just to get my fix. Sunday seems like a lifetime away with three more 12's ahead of me.

Correct, but they you put it is that it is dumb to complain about the comedy in a comedy show or the drama in a drama show.   So you can't complain about the comedy in 2 1/2 Men?  People can't complain about the drama or plot for NCIS?  Obviously not all writing is equal, and people interpret and have different reactions to things.

I haven't looked at the schedule - is there a break in this season, or are we getting the last 3 episodes in a row and it ends in August?

I see it scheduled out straight from here.

It isn't clear when the final 8 episodes are airing, but it sounds like they are mostly done with them.

Cool, thanks.

I thought I heard next year for final 8? If they are mostly done, that is a loooooong time to attempt to avoid leaks and spoilers.

My understanding is that they completed all the principal work while shooting the 15 episodes. They lack mostly CGI and sound at this point, and a few location shots.  The leaks also indicate they shot more than one "ending" which aligns with typical HBO practice dating back to the Sopranos.

Everything I've seen is that they just wrapped up writing the episodes but haven't started filming. Season 8 was on hold until they announced it in March. They were looking at 2018 or maybe even 2019
