Game of Thrones, tv only, books don't exist, no backstory...NERDS already ruining a series that hasn't started (14 Viewers)

Regarding troop size.

In the first "war council" scene of the episode, someone says, "...half troops lost..." - or something similar.

However, I do not know which specific troops they were referring to.

All of the allied troops?

Or, just one faction?

I dunno.

Then, there were losses at sea, before landing on Dragonstone. I have no clue about that.

So much to unpack, but I am looking forward to seeing how everything plays at the end with Sansa. Once the war is over, she will have a pivotal role in what happens with Jon and Daenerys. 

 
Great drama in the episode, but not understanding the massive crossbows utility.  Earlier, they couldn't come close to hitting a dragon until it was nearly directly on top of them and even then, it barely sank into the dragon's shoulder.  Now, they apparently have a range of 1/2 mile or more and are the most accurate thing ever invented and can blow a dragon's head off?  Cersei's head of engineering deserves a raise.

Also, who's the traitor.  No way for Euron to be waiting at Dragonstone unless someone informs them that Dany is on her way..... also she's a pretty terrible recon agent.  She has dragons that can fly hundreds of feet in the air and allow her to see for miles, yet Euron still gets the drop on her?   Terrible.

 
I take great satisfaction in the foreshadowing that Jon actually lives and reunites with Ghost in the North.  ETA: The real North

BTW - Sansa will be the queen in the end.

The setup for Dany going mad is really obvious. Almost too obvious. 

Having said that,  Arya and the Hound together again might be the most delicious part of this episode.

If you think about any of it, it doesn’t really hold up. Why would Cersei go right next to Missendai on the ledge? She could have been knocked off. Why didn’t Jaimie and Tyrioni order Bron arrested? How did Dany’s crew get to Kings Landing so fast?  How did they immediately know Missendai was kidnapped and not just drown/killed in the attack?

Because there were like 12 troops down there. She didn’t have any fear.

Because a Lannister always pays his debts. 

The magic of tv fast-forwarding things a little? Do you think the battle last week only last 75 minutes? 

Cersei probably sent a raven.

In the money train episode they had the javelin thing locked up in a crate and bronn had never fired it, was sprinting through a war zone while seeing his first dragon and his first dothraki horde, and he was loading it and aiming it alone while a dragon was flying right at him. 

Now they have a ton of anti aircraft weapons mounted on the boats and castle walls with a team of trained soldiers manning each one. 

 
If they used the dragons right their would be no show.  Just a blow out.

I'm expecting Dany to actually start coming straight down on them next episode.

I didn't get the reactions from Aryas scene, and thought at least it was a little more natural for those two.  I never bought Jaime + Brienne and mostly just found the scene awkward.  :shrug:

Personally, I have been wanting this connection since the Bear and the Maiden Fair at Harrenhall (sp?) - so I'm biased by a mile.

But I was thinking all episode about how well Sansa plays the game now....and I was thinking, especially with John blabbing his secret Dany didn't want told, that Dan will become unhinged and blow #### up, leaving John as the true and loved king. Given all that, that sansa raven idea fits right in.

It was pretty clear she was going to be murdered so it was very possible she would try to kill Ceraei before she dies. 

It really wouldn’t be a debt if you had him captured, tried and executed. 

So where was Jon and Yara? The plan was for Dany and her group to get their days or weeks ahead of time and do what exactly?

How would she kill cersei? She was in cuffs. 

They made him a promise. It’s a debt. That would go against everything Tyrion has ever said about being a Lannister. 

I guess they’ll be waiting on Jon to get there. Sure next week will cover that.

While I completely agree with this... The previous comment about euron somehow sneaking up on her and her flying dragons is dead on. It makes no sense, other than from a writers standpoint of taking an easy way forward telling the story.

Really minor quibble...none of these shows get movement in and around water right...from the bronn/Jamie dive into the bottomless Rivers edge, to how sail boats move. The latter is only a personal issue with this and other shows, and doesn't detract form the story telling

I had the same thought ... maybe there are some “rules of battle” but whatever - it’s not like Cersei would abide by any of them.

Cool scene. But strange. Dany shows up with what? 30 unsullied? 

They’ve got a bunch of those dragon killer guns - I’d be scared if I were Dany. 

Starting to lean towards Sansa running the show after Arya carves up Cersei ... I don’t dany, Jon or the dragons survive this.
