Game Thread -Divisionals-Pittsburgh V Indianapolis (1 Viewer)

Now Denver is crapping their pants... I wouldn't want anything to do with the Steelers.
 Steelers in Denver after two weeks of VERY emotional wins over two VERY tough teams..

Or, Go on the road to The Colts in a dome vs. Manning.

Hmmmmmm, I wonder who the Bronco's would rather have win this today????

:loco:
With the exception of a few minutes in the 4th quarter today Pittsburgh was incredibly dominant. If not for that bad call and the fumble this game isn't that close. I'm not a homer by any means, I actually dislike the Steelers, but they'll roll Denver like a homeless guy. Bank it.PS: I'd be more than happy to put a sig bet where my mouth is...

Defintely the craziest 4th quarter I've seen in awhile -- at least since the Bills came from way behind to beat the Oilers in the playoffs years ago.

I think that would of been if INDY had pulled this game out. And having to go to INDY instead of facing the Pitt in Denver
Nooooo.....I'd still rather play Pitt at home than Indy on the road. Pitt tried everything they could at the end to give it away, but Indy shot themselves in the foot. Continue that lack of momentum next week!

They had 2 chances to get 2 yards and get a new set of downs - throwing it on every down was a weak call, IMO. Maybe I am missing something, but a new set of downs might have allowed them to get even closer for Vandy.

The better team won today, officiating had nothing to do with the outcome. The worse call of the game was the overturned INT. Manning will just have to live with being a choker.
And for those that believe it's a team game the OL will get some blame.

Pittstain doesn't have a snowballs chance in hell in Denver ( PUN fully intended ), no way, no how...This was certainly entertaining to say the very least... But again, the refs win, oh and Pitt gets to play another week...

as a Dallas fan, i didnt have a real rooted interest in this game either waybut i was upset to see Bettis fumble at the goalline. i think he's everything thats' good for pro sports and would've hated to see him end his career like that. as for the kicker, does that really surprise anyone?Kickers are terrible. Although the play calling was extremely suspect.Im sorry, if you have 3rd and 2 and 2 timeouts left, you get a first down and try to get closer. You dont try shots deep that have little chance of landing. Maybe ONCE off play action or something, but i thought their playcalling was very suspect on that last sequence.Oh well, see ya next year Mr Manning.

The better team lost today.
:lmao: :lmao: This game was O-V-E-R till teh Refs tried to help.

Colts came out flat and never played with true fire till The 4th Quarter. The TRUE better team plays with fire from the start, as the Steelers did today.

ANd I was rooting for The Colts.. They just got :own3d: by the better team today.

:goodposting: 3rd and 2 with time outs left :(

like someone said like 30 pages ago, the only thing that could even make this game better would be for boomer to call peyton the next marino again (subject of big dispute last year)

I ,along with all Steelers fans ,would like to have everyone who said you cannot allow Ben to win the game for you to just savor the taste of your words.

My thought was this: Vandy's money from 46. Why not try for the end zone?In hindsight that was wrong, but I'm sure Dungy, Tom Moore and Peyton all thought the same thing.

Lots of misplaced talk of "choking" this weekend, but Vanderjagt's massively wide missed FG at the end of the game was the definition of CHOKE. :X

watching that replay again, all Harper had to do was run toward the sideline and Ben would have never caught him. Not sure why he cut back.

No kicker is 100% from 46 yards. A good offensive coordinator runs the ball there no matter what his QB thinks. That's why the situation with Manning dominating this offense is not the ideal situation.

Yeah he sure choked on that FG miss.
Going for the TD before he got into field goal range probably wasn't the best decision there, especially with time on the clock. It's not like he put Vanderjagt in a good situation there.

:towelwave: :towelwave: :towelwave: :towelwave: :towelwave: :towelwave: -never used that smiley beforeNow you see why Tampa was glad to see Dungy go, too conservative. Peyton :own3d: Dungy by sending the punting unit off the field.+ I bet the Steelers to win :towelwave: :towelwave: :towelwave:

Saw taht too.. At least if he runs to the right instead of back inside he only has Ben to beat.. By running back inside it let the otehr Pit player come in and help with the tackle.

:goodposting: Thank you! This play should be placed in the dictionary for future reference.

probably because he thought cutting back would have gotten him extra yards?

Definately, though Manning didn't help him any by not trying to pick up a few more yds. 46 yd FG isn't a gimmee.

So what does Vandy do now? I don't mean career wise, I mean RIGHT now? Does he go into the locker room?If I'm Vandy, after I miss the kick, I walk off the field, past the bench, past the bleachers, and just leave the stadium without going into the locker room, and catch a cab to the airport. And go anywhere. All my stuff in my apartment? #### it, leave it for the next guy. Own a house? #### it, call a realter. That would be the last time he should show his face. Just like Kaiser Soze. . . and *poof* . . . he's gone. . .

it was a choke, but sorry I can't pin it all on him.. its kind of equal parts choking (by just how badly he missed it) and idiocy (from Manning and the rest of the team not fighting for more yards when it seemed clearly there for the taking), not to mention poetic justice (didn't deserve to be in the game).
