Game Thread - KC @ HOU (1 Viewer)

I see 7 or 8 wins this season, miss the playoffs, finish 3rd in the AFC west. OAK may be improved, not yet capable of winning more than 5 games. I have Houston to win this game though.

How has LJ looked?
I'm an LJ owner. I was hoping for better. Not getting much opportunity yet. Texans putting together some long drives and Huard has had some jitters. Bennett has also seen the field a fair share early.

Ahman Green is running hard.

Midway through the second quarter and I don't think Owen Daniels has been targeted yet.

Andre Johnson catches a bomb, breaks a tackle, and has a huge TD. 77 yards.

Nice pass to the sidelines by Huard, but the receiver is hit as the ball get there, the ball popped up and pinballed off two guys before being picked off by Houston with less than 20 seconds left in the half.

LJ update... has been involved but not as much as in the past. KC has looked bad so its hard for LJ or KC to get anything going.Herm has lived up to easing LJ back in IMO

Shaub hasn't looked the tight ends way much at all. Mostly passes to AJ and screen passes to Green. KC's pass rush has been pretty good this game.

Is Daniels even playing? What's the deal? Is he staying in to block?
He's just not getting targeted. He was wide open on one recent play but Schaub went for the deep WR. I can't really say whether the HOU gameplan today is to get the ball to the wideouts, if it's just Schaub's tendency to look downfield or if Daniels just hasn't gotten open enough.

AJ just ran into the tunnel after that fumble. No word yet on whether it was simply an equipment issue, an injury, or a potty break.

2 sacks and a fumble recovery for a TD out of Super Mario.... is he looking anywhere near as good as his statline is showing?

He's been disruptive on a few plays but he's probably not had as good a game as the stats would indicate. I think 1.5 sacks is probably closer to the truth, which is still solid. The fumble recovery was more a case of him being in the right place at the right time but he did show some speed on the long return. To be fair, nobody on the defense has really stood out but they've played well as a unit.If I were grading him, to this point in the game I'd give him a solid B to a B+.

It's ony 3 quarters into the first game of his first season with the Texans, but I'm going to go ahead and say that Schaub is a much better fit in Houston than Carr ever was.

The HOU o-line is starting to dominate the KC def. They're just running up the gut for 4-5 yards a pop now.

I hate the timeout there. You're going for it against a defense that's on its back heel; just line up and go.
