Game Thread-Playoffs-Green Bay@Philly (1 Viewer)

I'm surprised....no one has even mentioned the phantom 3 extra yards that the refs gave the Eagles on that 4th and 26 play?? It would be generous to call it a horrible spot. It was blantant negligence and that ref will be fined. when the NFL reviews it.
he caught it over the "line to make," which was all that really mattered.

it was right at the line. but since spotting the ball is not an exact science (especially on a play like that) a normal spot of the ball could have given it to them or could have possibly come up an inch or two short. with it being 4th down it could have been crucial.

going by the fox graphic (which isn't exact, obviously) he looked to have it by half a yard or so. with a legit spot, it could have been close, yes. all the refs were probably looking in the eagles backfield, waiting to call the sack.

Favre can't possibly retire and have his last throw be THAT one.
Why do people keep saying this - Favre state about a month and a half ago that he was definitely coming back next year, at least.

Two comments...Green Bay and their inability to tackle almost doomed them last week and finally caught up with them this week.If I am a head coach and an opposing team converts a fourth-and-twenty six, I fire my defensive coordinator. That coverage they called was incredibly stupid!

You should probably waive Favre as well, given that last pass.

Phily versus Carolina for the right to lose to the AFC team!!
Any given Sunday. However, if the Eagles lose to the Panthers, then you will hearing booing in Philly like we have never heard before.

That's about how it will be spun, no matter which way either game goes. Can't really fault that though. As an Eagles fan who has watched them all year, I'm as surprised as anyone that they are 13-4, not 4-12.

The way the NFL seems to work, this should be their year though. Their worst team in the last 3 years (by far IMO), and then add a slew of injuries across the board...

= time to win SB

 you're mccown's b*tch... get over it

Favre is a gambler, but it is up to the head coach to contain him / restrict him during crunch time. If I was Mike Sherman, I would have driven his facemask through the back of his helmet after that play.

So true. They've been leaking talent on defense. How they miss Shawn Barber, Hugh Douglas, Jeremiah Trotter etc. And think about how much they are going to miss Bobby Taylor and Troy Vincent after this season...

Step forward all you McNabb bashers! Face it, there's no way in hell the Birds win this with any other QB!! And for once, its not McNabb who throws the crucial end-the-season INT. :rotflmao: :rotflmao: :rotflmao: I can't take these playoff games!!

In a league of extreme parity no one is more important than the head coach. Andy Reid is one of the best in the business. Therefore, regardless of the relative strength of this year's team, they are a force for the Super Bowl.But.... Philly cannot stop the run. Can someone remind me of Carolina's strength?

The pass was miscommunication.Walker broke off his route because of the blitz. Favre through the ball as if he didn't. Gutsy throw that definately went south, but, had they been on the same page, it would have been Walker going up for a jump ball, which he does quite well... obviously.

Yup, but as someone else said, any given Sunday.I honestly can't believe either the Iggles or the Panthers are a game away from the Super Bowl this year, but one of them has to get it.

Ugh.

Interpretation - I'm an angry, jealous, classless Viking fan whose team was thrown out of the playoffs by the CARDINALS.
... who can't spell Favre. :brush:

Here's your game folks...

Rushes - 37

Avg. Per Rush - 5.7

Net Yards Rushing - 210

...and the Packers decide to throw the ball on 1st down in OT, against a team defense that lives off the blitz. Pure brilliance...we're talkin' Martz quality here folks.

There's someone to blame for this loss...and his name is not Favre. Those that have followed the team closely for the last three seasons already know of whom I refer, his name is...R O S S L E Y...and he should be history...just like the Packers Super Bowl aspirations!

Pray your team doesn't acquire him as your OC.

As an Eagles' fan, I watched this entire game with my 8-year-old son (wearing his #5 jersey  ) I told him several times that I'm glad he was getting a chance to watch Favre and kept telling him that #4 was one of the best ever. However, I'm glad we pounded him into the dirt!!E-A-G-L-E-S EAGLES!!! :excited: :excited:
