Game Thread W10 - Atlanta vs. Baltimore (1 Viewer)

I'm REALLY looking forward to tonight's game. Fantastic line-up:

- Two 6-2 Division Leaders

- Two young, talented QBs coming into their own

- Two stud RBs who started slow, but seem to be picking up steam

- Two stud WRs

- Baltimore has the better defense

- Atlanta has home field

- Two freaking birds, man.

You can't write it up any better...my prediction - 27-24 Falcons

Get some... :nerd:

I think road teams struggle offensively in these Thursday night games. Plus the Ravens D is softish vs. the runs these days. I look for Atlanta to move the ball pretty well but bog down in the red zone, while the Ravens struggle offensively most of the night. Flacco's only thrown 1 INT since Week 2, but I wouldn't be surprised to see him serve up a couple and/or fumble on a sack. Atlanta 23, Baltimore 13.

On a related note, who do you think is better, Flacco or Ryan?

Their career stats are virtually identical:

Flacco 26-14 record 1,190 yards 61.5 completion % 8,501 yards 47 TDs, 30 INTs 85.8 QB rating

Ryan 26-12 record 1,173 yards 60.4 completion % 8,305 yards 51 TDs, 30 INTs 85.7 QB rating

It seems like people think Ryan is better, but I don't think that's the case anymore. He started out more polished than Flacco, who was coming out of I-AA, but I think Flacco has caught him now and has a higher ceiling. Since his Week 2 debacle at Cincy, Flacco is the NFL's highest-rated QB (108.6 rating) with 11 touchdowns and one interception, and is currently on a streak of 129 passes without an INT.

So I think Flacco stumbles tonight, but bounces back strong down the stretch.

I like Flacco better myself--maybe because he's the one on my squad--but it's really a tossup; in my league Ryan is ahead of him by 0.09 ppg. "I think road teams struggle offensively in these Thursday night games."

This makes sense, but any numbers to look at here? I'm actually leaning toward playing Flacco over Schaub on a hunch (think Foster is going to steal all the thunder).

In 2009, the home team won 5 out of 9. Not overwhelming.

Besides the Patriots-Ravens game, this is the only other game this year I was even looking forward to.

Expecting the Ravens to win, but would not be surprised to see it go the other way.

As a Falcon fan, I am very concerned. Atlanta beats the bad teams and average ones, but struggles mightily to play with the good ones (except the occasional win over New Orleans - thank you Hartley!). Ray Rice is a handful, I always worry that Atlanta will get zero pressure, leaving the secondary exposed to Boldin and company. Will Turner run into the pile that is Ngata and Ray Lewis over and over?

In fantasy I am torn on Roddy White. I feel like benching him for Manningham because then if White has a good game, they probably win, so it hedges my bet.

I Hate TE's this year:

with Finley on IR,

Heath Miller Unofficially a lineman and now hurt,

Zach Miller on BYE and hurt

TODD HEAP TO THE RESCUE!! i hope, fingers crossed

Isn't Ryan something like 15-2 at home?

Who has the bigger game, a cooled off Boldin or Roddy with a bum knee?

Love this matchup. Should be a great game to watch. ATL with their run gap blitzes against Rice, Turner against Ngata, Kelly Gregg, a suspect Ravens secondary, Suggs and Lewis big plays, Lofton playing at home on a national stage...

The following players are inactive for Thursday’s game.

Baltimore Ravens: S Ken Hamlin, LB Jason Phillips, S Tom Zbikowski, OT Scott Kooistra, DE Lamar Divens, DT Arthur Jones, DT Brandon McKinney and TE Dennis Pitta.

Atlanta Falcons: LB Sean Weatherspoon, QB John Parker Wilson, CB Dominique Franks, G Mike Johnson, OT Garrett Reynolds, DE Trey Lewis, TE Justin Peele and DL Lawrence Sidbury.

For those of you with iphones/ipods/ipads go to veetle.com. You can watch a live stream of the game right now on your phone. Doesn't work for Android unfortunately. I think you can also watch on a regular computer but I think you have to install something so I never tried.

Good way to watch games on Sundays also.

Is it just me, or was that reporter standing extremely close to Harbaugh in the pre game? I thought they were going to bump heads at one point.

It's loud in there, if she's not dry humping him he won't be able to hear her.

Seriously, the game has not begun? Yahoo! says 7:20 and that was 20 minutes ago. Just another reason why Thursday night football is stupid.

I love you.

Please start looking back to Roddy White. TY.

ETA: Negative pass routes are not what I had in mind.
