Game Thread W10 - Detroit V Arizona (1 Viewer)

NFL.com stats say KJ, 4 carries, -4 yardsI assume he got injured and has missed most of the game?
Please look under "receiving" (especially if you're in a PPR league)ETA: He's in there, most plays. But they refuse to run the ball, and have pretty much for most of the last 2 1/2 quarters.

Actually, now, Cason gets a carry, then Duckett. Ugh. :lmao:
So, am I to understand that KJ is just a passing down back? This play calling makes zero sense.
 I didn't get it either. When they had a RB, it was KJ, until that last series.Duckett I can understand (sort of), but unless they'd all but given up on winning, giving it to Cason instead of KJ has me

ast Play: 1-10-ARI 43(2:43) J.Kitna pass deep middle to R.Williams for 43 yards, TOUCHDOWN NULLIFIED by Penalty. PENALTY on DET-J.Backus, Illegal Formation, 5 yards, enforced at ARZ 43 - No Play.

 :towelwave:

Ah, NOW Roy gets the garbage-time TD.

You know, if they'd kicked the FG rather than go for it on 4th-and-1 earlier this quarter, I could call this one "not over".

kj leave the game, or just not getting any carries?
They stopped running the ball early in the 2nd quarter. It makes absolutely no sense. You can't win games by just passing the ball. How does one keep the defense honest without running the ball?
Welcome to moronic Mike Martz football. The guys is simply an idiot.
Uhhh... they had -19 yards rushing. You think they should've KEPT running?

The Lions will continue to be up and down because they don't run the ball well. When you're on the road, you need to be able to run the ball and they just couldn't do it.

Early on, the defense was on the field way to much and killed any early momentum they had. The lack of a running game will keep the Lions from getting 10 wins, they'll struggle to get 9.

Considering they stopped early in the 2nd quarter, absolutely! -15 of those came on one play. If they had stuck with a run, they could have extended some drives as eventually the run would start working. When you only try something 4 times and basically all in one quarter, you are bound to fail at doing it.

Why? Were the Cardinals going to get bored blowing the Lions off the ball and decide to stop tackling them in the backfield?"Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results" - Albert Einstein.

no mention of the absolutely retarted McDonald "fumble" call that completely turned the momentum back to AZ early in the second half? How you can review that and not see that the ball came out when his arm hit the ground is beyond me. I'm amazed teams even bother with reviewing screw ups sometimes. it's as if the refs are determined not to overturn something the more obvious it was in the first place.

Kevin Jones had 4 carries in the half and one was a TD run. I'd hardly say they were blowing the Lions off tjhe ball. The reason the Lions had poor rushing numbers is because they DIDN'T run, not because they couldn't run. They gave up on the run. Four carries by your starting RB isn't going to cut it.

By using Einstein's logic, one should never run the ball if the first time results in fewer than 3 yards. Using that logic, Adrian Peterson should not have set the rushing record last week. He wasn't successful in the first half. Why should they keep trying and expect different results? If you use Einstein's quote properly, you'd understand it doesn't apply to this situation. When rushing, teams run different plays to attempt to keep the defense guessing. If you ran the same play on play after play after play, Einstein's quote would apply. Right now he's rolling in his grave.

Then you weren't watching the same game I was. The Lions were getting their tails kicked at the line of scrimmage on pretty much every play, run or pass. At least on the pass attempts, Kitna had the opportunity to make a play under pressure, which he did many times.

:wall:
I don't understand how that call can be missed...? Killer.
