Game Thread W10 - San Diego V Cincinnati (1 Viewer)

To give some an idea of the emotional roller coaster I've been on today. In one league...where I NEED a win to stay within a game of my division leader I have LT and Rivers. My opponent? Yeah...Palmer and CJ!!!

WOW...whatta game this has been.

Key plays are the Palmer fumble and TJ being knocked out of the game. TJ was definitely missed in the final drive.

Rivers should be a lock for the Pro Bowl. The guy is putting up incredible numbers.

Missed the whole game but I bet that the NFL network will show this one this week. I hope so, sounds like it was a fun game to watch.

Of course the naysayers will point out that the Chargers still haven't beaten a team with a winning record.

Rivers' passer rating for the game: 124.4.

His passer rating for the season: 100.4.

That is second in the NFL behind only Peyton Manning.

An undrafted TE that goes to two pro-bowls in his first three years is a bust?H.K., your aliases might be more annoying and uninformed than you are.
I am not H.K., I don't know who he is and you have called me that before. The bottom line is, if you drafted Gates early thinking you were building an advantage, you are screwed. He is NOT performing like an elite fantasy TE, PERIOD.I hate both LaDainian Tomlinson and the entire Chargers organization. Good night.

TJs comments after the game:

'After I watch the tape and find out who made the hit, he better watch his back because my homies and I are in San Diego a lot.'

This is just what the Bengals need :lmao: . This team would be a much better fit in the NBA

But, he's doing it with a great running game and a very good defense. Doesn't mean much, because anyone can do that. :sarcasm: :D Just what we've heard with Big Ben for a couple years. Rivers looks very good.

Don't forget the 3rd in long that SD had where the refs called Cincy for holding Gates when he was in the back field blocking. That turned a punt into a TD - big swing in the game IMO.

I drafted Gates in the 4th round in a 12 team league. Going into today I was 8-1. I don't think that's "screwed".

It was quoted on the Bengals boards from a newscast. I'll see if I can find it in print.Edit: It was quoted and confirmed by a few Bangals fans, but I can't find a link from a news source. Perhaps tomorrow it will come out in print.

Look at the mass exodus in Cinci....they're only 8 down with 2:30 left in a gmae that has featured ZERO defense. How lame can fans be?
I completely agree. I brought a friend to the 2003 Bengals/Chiefs game when we beat them and they were 9-0 going into the game, and he wanted to dip early to avoid the traffic. ####### weak. However, I do think this is a universal thing and not just something applicable strictly to Bengals fans. I definitely remember Steelers fans filing out of Heinz in full force when the Bengals went up 38-24 in the late3rd/early4th quarter.

Question to ponder: Who would win in a showdown between TJH and his homies vs Harrison Stevens and his crew?

Why is McCree still in the game?
No ####. I am of the opinion that players should be ejected for blatant cheap shots like that.
try again guy.
"He was just trying to make a play on the ball," Houshmandzadeh said. "He got there a little too soon. It wasn't actually his hit that hurt me. It was the fact that the linebacker was coming so fast. He tried to jump over me but as he jumped, he kneed me in the head. It was just one of those split-second type of accidents, basically."

So, I made the trip from sunny southern CA all the way to Cinci to be at the game. I feel well rewarded. I'm still recovering - I lost my voice somewhere at the end of the 3rd quarter, but I kept screaming anyway. What a game! Brought back visions of the good old days when Fouts would battle Montana, except the Chargers won this time.

Downtown Cincy is beautiful, and Paul Brown is a great stadium. Despite leaving early, the Bengal fans were great fans. I did notice many of them were very pessimistic about their team's ability to win games, and sure enough it was justified on this occasion.

The Charger receivers played a great game, they made some great big time catches and ran some beautiful routes, I think they've been underappreciated in the affect they had on the game. But when Palmer, C. Johnson, Rivers and LaDainian have days like they had, I guess it's not surprising.

The Chargers really need to get their defense healthy again asap.

Anyway.... :banned:
