Game Thread W10 - Washington V Philadelphia (1 Viewer)

So Portis is out for this game. :wall: Do you think he will be back next week? :wall:
id doubt it at this point. the season seems to look more and more like its lost for the skins and portis' right hand is his dominant hand for carrying the ball. I guess it depends on how badly his hand is broken, where the break is, and if its actually a break afterall.

al saunders' playbook has one play in it: brunell play fake, scramble toward the sideline, throw it away.

might want to add in a second play.

if portis is done for more then just this game(which seems likely), i fully expect to see jason cambell next week with the way brunell is playing.
I'd figure them to start Betts instead.[/lame joke]Portis' status won't make a diff on what QB starts.

This game is a great play by Dawkins and a bizarre tipped ball (assuming a defensive stop) away from being 10-10. Strange game.

McNabb's looked worse than Brunell since that long pass to Stallworth, and that's saying something.

Going back to my other post about Betts > Portis today, I stand by that. Portis looked a step slow today. I think his ankle is bothering him more than he was letting on. He outran no one and was falling forward rather than still moving his legs when he made first contact. Betts looks fresh and explosive. Moot point now with the broken hand, but that's what I was seeing.

I'm frustrated that the 'Skins can't seem to find any sort of blocking combo that allows them to take deep shots to Lloyd or Moss or Randle El. This dink and dunk stuff ain't cutting it.

before they come back and rule on the westbrook reception at the 2...

was ruled a catch and down by contact...

on replay looks like it may have been a fumble but my question is since it was ruled down by contact can the skins be given the ball as a fumble recovery? i can see it being ruled incomplete but can they get it as a fumble recovery since the play technically is blown dead at contact?

Terrible. That was clearly a fumble, ball clearly came out before he was touched.

This whole replay thing is idiotic. Hey let's have one guy look at it on a 7" screen

New NFL rules for 2006: • Down by contact calls may be reviewed by instant replay. Previously, a fumble was not reviewable if the ball carrier was ruled down by contact. If the ruling of down by contact is changed, the ball belongs to the recovering player at the spot of the recovery of the fumble.

Reason for the change: Provides a mechanism for correcting an obvious on-field officiating error.

Back to the Buckhalter fumble, isnt that a score for the PHL D? One a fumble occurs, the offense becomes the defense? True?

Great final drive. This is what I wanted to see from the Eagles for a while now... grinding over 9 mins off the clock in a drive. Best part of the game IMO.
