Game Thread W11 - Kansas City V Indianapolis (1 Viewer)

He made it but never ever ever in my life have I seen something that stupid. I cant believe I just watched that happen.

Unreal.

If it was any other coach but Dungy or Belichick, I'd think about firing the guy that made that call.

J

Colts seem content to let Addai try to take over this game and steal a win.
Think about that for a second. Indy needs to "steal" a game at home? Against KC?Manning is 12 -28 for 104 yards. He may not have the picks he had last week, but in every other way he looks much worse.
I've counted at least 6 overthrows for Manning today. It isn't just that the Colts are hurt. Manning is just flat out BAD today. Sure there have been drops (like Clark's on the last drive) but this one is really on Peyton. He's been terrible.
So, his receivers are dropping balls and his offensive line is in shambles, but it is all on Manning? Okay, sure. /not a Colts fan
You watching the game?
Yes. Manning has not played well, but no QB would play well if their receivers were dropping passes all day and if their offensive line was as beat up as theirs is.

Moorehead and those dirt bags have been dropping passes alot lately. I have to say, that NE game would have been MUCH different. Coverages by the defense would have been different with Harrison in there. Would've been fewer dropped passes which killed some drives and gave NE alot more clock time.

Definitely ballsy. Seems like a poor move from a gut risk/reward analysis. But I like it when coaches shy away from the conservative approach. Thumbs up to Dungy and Manning there, but I agree that very few coaches have built up the goodwill to make that decision.

I saw nothing gutsy about it. Just flagrantly the wrong call. Going for it on 4th was stupid. And then taking a knee and not scoring a TD was just as stupid. Unreal. I normally pull for Indy but I was hoping KC came back and won that after that display.J

The Colts botched that. The fact that KC has a shot at a Hail Mary is inexcusable.
100% correct. That was worse than the going for it on 4th and 1 decision, because there was zero reason to leave any time on the clock. Stupid blunder x 100.
Yep. If you aren't going to go for the TD, you kick the FG to where you know there is no time left.
Exactly. Just a head scratcher. That's the kind of coaching mistake that just begs for a flukey loss...

HEre is the play by play for the endScore was tied 10-10

Thanks Joe.

Unless the clock on the TV (and as stated by TV announcers) was wrong, the Colts actually called the TO with FOUR seconds left but the clock didn't run. The officials somehow decided to put THREE seconds on the clock. I've always heard that it is an automatic four second run off for FG attempts. Regardless, how can a FG try take only one second?

I just don't get Dungy's decision not to kick on 4th & 1 and go for it. Going to be interesting hearing his explanation.

If the Chiefs offense was even mediocre, they'd be ahead by 3 TDs. The Chiefs are showing everyone how to beat Indy. I think all the injuries have finally caught up to this team. I had a post this week arguing that the Colts were still better than my Steelers, but boy I might have been wrong on that one. Indy looks completely lost...
While they may not be better than your Steelers, theyre definitely better than your NINERS.

Very shocked by this whole game. Manning looked terrible, again. And Dungy, what can I say but... wow! What on earth is going on with Indy? Looks like Pitt is indeed the second best team in the AFC right now.

OL is terrible right now, and receivers are dropping passes left and right. Last week, Manning was awful. This week, I don't blame him so much - the rest of the offense (besides Addai - who was great under the dire circumstances) needs to step up.Pitt is losing at halftime to the lowly Jets - so maybe there isn't a 2nd best team in the AFC right now. Not that it really matters until January when some team will step up to the challenge.

There were some dropped passes no doubt. But many of Manning's passes looked to be of the "not even close" variety to me. I was shcoked to see him look as bad as he did. As for Pitt, I think I'll reserve judgment until the game is over.
