Game Thread W11: NY Jets at Denver (1 Viewer)

Critics can say what they want, but a 95 yard drive to win the game against the Jets is unbelievable. Tebow just needs to work on that accuracy. Does anyone else think Tebow's delivery is not all that different from P. Rivers? If Tebow can just get a little bit more accurate on the deep balls and get a good rapport with his receivers, he could improve significantly.I also think that Demaryius Thomas needs to be inserted into the gameplan. Thomas can go up and get the ball, and the coaching staff should let him throw it up a little bit more.
Reminds me of leftwich actuallyEta: just talking about his motion

Just wanted to add that Rex Ryan just said he was furious at the guy on the outside there because his job was strictly to keep contain on the outside left. They had the absolute most perfect defensive playcall imaginable on there. The guy on the outside just messed it up.
I believe that was the Red Sea defense that the Jets implemented there. -QG

Rivers has an odd delivery, but they're not really similar. Rivers gets the ball out quickly with good accuracy, even if it does look like he's shot-putting it. Tebow has this long, looping delivery. You know Elway just has to cringe every time he sees that ball come out.

I'll say this.. Tebow just went 95 yards when it counted and beat a good defense. Im not a Tebow believer as a QB long term in this league but I cant argue with what I just saw. He commanded the huddle and picked up 3rd downs/yards. Punched it in. What more can u say. He did a good job... got it doneOn the comparison to Rivers.. ehh.. Rivers is very accurate and quick release. Tebow has neither but Leadership wise i think you're onto something.. and will to win.

It's God's revenge on horse face for the shenanigans he pulled when drafted.

Denver has been fortunate to have been playing against lousy offenses, so they are still in the game by the time Tebow wakes up.
You sure the defense isn't playing better because they aren't on the field most of the time every week? That defense is playing with legs in the 4th quarter now.
Let's compare some stats between tonight, and the week 1 loss to Oakland under Orton, that will supply an answer to your question:Denver Time of possession:* Today: 27:48* Week 1: 27:25Denver 3rd conversions:* Today: 3 of 13, 23%* Week 1: 6 of 13, 46%Denver 1st downs* Today: 11* Week 1: 25Scoring drives by offense:* Today: 1 touchdown (Defense 1 TD and 1 FG)* Week 1: 1 touchdown, 1 FG. (Special teams 1 TD, defense 1 FG)So under Tebow time of possession is almost identical. Converted 3rd downs half as often. Gained less than half as many 1st downs.

Rex Ryan compared Tebow to former Jet Brad Smith in the post game press conference.

Edit: Rex agreed that the last play was a breakdown and lost containment that contributed to the score

I think their deliveries are much, much, much, much different. Rivers throws like his elbow is stuck to the side of his body. (see the following:
) Tebow throws like his elbow has to see all of the continents before he releases the ball.

Rivers does have a quick release, but at times it looks like he's pushing the ball as Tebow does quite often.

Wow this is the opposite of almost every pro athlete.

I got the the Tebow tickle and it feels good.

Umm was that ok to say.

Not a Broncos fan at all, but this is becoming one of the best NFL stories in years.
I personally can't stand the whole ostentatious holiness thing, but you have to admire his tenacity. Most people, after the things that have been said and written about him, and after how just truly bad he's been at times, would fold under the pressure. I can't say I know how good a person he is, but there's no doubt that he's a strong one.

Is Kyle Orton even on the Broncos active roster anymore? Haven't heard that name once a midst Tebow Time hysteria. I guess God doesn't need a backup.

well to be fair.. reap what you sow... Tebow does and from what Ive read/heard he's just a good guy that is a devote christian. I cant knock him for being a good person or practicing what he preaches.

check the turnovers. the one that sticks in my craw is when Orton flat out dropped the ball - unforced fumble. That was ballgame right there.Say what you want about Tebow and his throwing prowess (or lack thereof), but the dude takes care of the ball.
