Game Thread W12 - Chicago V New England (1 Viewer)

Uh, the player was never touched down. How is a block considered a personal foul? I guess just like hitting a guy that has never touched out of bounds is a late hit.

Why are the Patriots acting like they're playing catch up? Maroney's running and catching the ball reasonably well, they're doing reasonably well on the short passes, and then they inexplicably start throwing the ball deep almost every drive like they need to preserve the clock. It makes no sense.

Agreed... Though the clearly see some gaping holes in the bear's secondary (part of that "being exposed" thing we were talking about earlier)...

There are holes in the secondary because they're correctly not worried about Chad Jackson. The Patriots are not a good down-the-field offense right now. That's OK - they're really good at spreading the field wide instead of long, and they can run the ball well. You don't have to try to establish the deep ball every game just to prove a point.

Gaffney did well two weeks ago, then started last week and was barely thrown to. As long as Reche Caldwell is doing well, I'm curious if Gaffney could do well.

Maybe I"m just catching it at opportune times but I can't remember a game where I saw more long bombs thrown, esp a defensive game like this.

He just referred to Rex Grossman as Tom Brady, marking the first and only time in history that that comparison will be made.

No, both teams are chucking the ball up there like a high school team. And they're catching the deep balls about as well as a high school team, too.
