Game Thread W12 - Minnesota V Jacksonville (1 Viewer)

:horns:

This is gonna be a brutal broadcast. Some chump and John Lynch making his commentator debut. I'd look elsewhere for your fantasy broadcast color commentator.

Vikes defense scores on the first snap of the game. The center simply drops the ball on the snap and Vikings LB N.Harris picked the ball off the turf and jogged in untouched.

Vikes 7 - Jags 0

Jags fumble the following kickoff return and the Vikes take the ball back AGAIN.

Jax are challenging the fumble but it sure looked like the correct call was made.

Call remains a fumble and the Jags lose a time out.

JESUS. First play of the game: Garrard is back in shotgun and Meester snaps it as if Garrard is under center and the Vikes pick it up for a TD.

As I type, a fumble by the Jags on the ensuing kickoff that is recovered by the Vikings.

JESUS.

Start wringing your hands in worry.

Adrian Peterson is still on the bench while Chester Taylor gets the start.

Nice little end around run by Berrian. Takes the ball within the 5 yard line and it's first and goal.

Chester Taylor scores the second TD of the game with a little run and the Vikes will lead 14 - 0 after the XP.

1:41 into the game and the Vikings have a 14 point lead. :D

Also, they mentioned that ADP is bothered by a chest cold and that is why Taylor was in.

Are you saying that just because Chester's had the ball on the first offensive drive? Peterson would have to seriously have done something out of character to be benched for the whole game. I am not worried.

Well there goes my season. Peterson plays a huge part for me today in a must win game if I want to make the playoffs. Very nice.

There's a big difference between "He isn't playing today" and "He hasn't played yet today". Do you have any information besides the fact that Taylor had the first two (RB) runs of the day?
Announcers said he had a chest cold yesterday, but were shocked he wasn't on the field.

Source? We know he didn't play on the first series (which lasted three plays). Have they indicated anything beyond that?
I'm watching the game and he isn't on the field. He didn't get the start.

There hasn't been any specific mention of why Adrian Peterson is out (so far). The only possible reason given is a cold he's battled this week.

I see this was already covered. Story remains the same.

Okay, but don't make statements he isn't playing today just because he did go in for the 1st series....

Uninspiring series by Jax that time around. Punt to the Vikings goes into the endzone. Minnesota gets the ball on their 20.

Guess we'll get some insight into the nature of Peterson's role now.

OK. I don't want to start anything here so take this for what it's worth.

Chester Taylor took the field for this second offensive series of the Vikings. After getting stuck behind the line of scrimmage on the first down carry, Taylor didn't even look to the sideline - he just ran back to the huddle as if there was no question he would remain on the field for the second down.

I just flipped over to this game, as a ADP and Chester owner this is horrible news. As they went to commercial the announcers said "will this be the first time we see Adrian Peterson."

so it sounds like it is news to them too, he isn't inactive so lets hope he gets some carries.

Not in on the second series. They are up 14-0 already. I highly doubt Peterson sees the field today.

It's two drives. AD will see the field because the Vikes want to win...

Unless last week's 4th quarter or any other time Childress has failed to utilize Adrian is any example of what's to come today.

They are already winning big. I'd say the odds of Peterson seeing more than 5 touches is 20%.

Haha

Peterson is in uniform on the sidelines. He looked like he was coughing a bit, but I may have imagined that.

Do they not have a sideline reporter at this game? So far they've had no followup at all.

Big difference between "He isn't playing today" and your opinion.
