I had my finger on the "submit" button to swap Henry out for Young at 4:03. Checked around and saw nothing to the contrary that he wasn't starting and figured "F- it." Fun.

I'm sure he doesn't care, but it wasn't called for. It's one thing if you really don't know who's going to be starting, but deliberately lying about who is starting is a #### move. The NFL is driven by its fans, so deliberately lying to the fans when it offers little to no competitive advantage isn't cool. Shanahan has a reputation of someone who does this a lot, but this is actually the first time I can remember where he said that one player would definitely be starting and then started another, instead.Obviously it's early and we don't really know what happened. I'll be curious to hear what Shanahan says during his press conference.

Yeah but he needs to get Russell some snaps this year. And he can't keep putting it off week to week because the starting QB plays well.

True, although Shanahan's not unreasonable enough to expect his RBs to never fumble. Henry better not make a habit of it, though.

My guess is that the Raiders may just bring him in for a series or so for this week and next to get his feet wet and then start him in Weeks 16 and 17. Pretty much like the Titans did with Young last year before he took over for Collins.
