Game Thread W13 - San Francisco at Arizona (1 Viewer)

How do you quit on this game and the season. I know it's three scores but cmon.
Teams do that all the time and it's baffling to me. The Colts did it last night. What's the worst thing that can happen? You lose by more points? At least give the impression you still care enough to try and succeed. I've never understood that play call but it happens all the time in the NFL.

THIRTEEN rushing yards. Wow.

I feel sorry for Fitzgerald. And Whisenhunt for that matter. Nothing either of them can do given the hands they've been dealt.

I probably wouldn't start Crabtree but with tbe shortages of quality Te's, how do you bench Davis. He has a shot for 50 yards and a TD in a game where the Packers score some points. I mean who do you start over him? Hernandez, Gresham, Graham? Those guys are bums, you can't rely on them either.
He has two receptions tonight and three in the past two games. His QB has looked horrible in those two games, neither of which came against a pass defense as good as Green Bay's. Anything can happen but I don't see any upside with Davis or Crabtree given how bad Smith looks. As far as Davis goes, yeah I'd start Hernandez or Gresham over him next week. At least I think there's a shred of potential with one of them. I don't see any with Davis. Smith really looks terrible tonight and he's facing a pass defense that's just begging to be destroyed.
This is a game where SF didn't have to throw to win. Arizona wasn't a threat to score, Green Bay will be. Davis will be more involved in the game plan as Westbrook will get 50 yards next week on the ground. You're entitled to your opinion but I'd start Davis over the guys I mentioned. W/e though, this game was BAD. Let's hope that game next week lives up to the billing.

Teams do it all the time and yet they leave their starters in. At least make up your mind whether you're quitting or not.

I was half joking when I predicted Fitz would end with fewer points than Gore's 5. The fact that I was right, and that it cost me 2 wins, is sickening.

As for the team, we're past sickened into apathy.

That's cool. I agree Smith hasn't needed to throw but when he did throw tonight he made a lot of bad throws. He missed both Crabtree and Davis for wide-open TDs. He missed Crabtree wide open downfield another time. He looked God awful last week against the Bucs when he did have to throw. Again, neither of those pass defenses are near as good as Green Bay's. If I had to start Davis (or Crabtree) next week I'd do so expecting next-to-nothing from them. I think the Packers are going to destroy Smith unless he transforms his game magically in the next seven days.

Just awful
poor fitzgerald
Pretty accurate sequence of posts. As much as I feel bad for the players and staff who actually care, I hope the Cards look this listless next week against the Rams."You can actually pinpoint the exact moment they quit on the season."
Is it ok if I root for your team for the rest of the year?
sure, I rooted for you guys in the SB. I grew up a Cards fan here in St.Louis. I still have a soft spot for them.
