Game Thread W14 - Kansas City V Denver (1 Viewer)

Young got the first couple of carries last week too...

Henry got it when it counted- goal line... too early to tell what he's thinking

I'm not watching the game, but I'm curious to know what formations Young is in on when he's getting those carries? Is Denver spreading the field or does it look like a normal set?

I know

But this is the Bronco team that makes us fans think, "Well, maybe???" and then that "Other Bronco" team shows up and kicks us in the package.

Selvin Young is a little bit overrated. If you take out his long run, he's only averaging 8 yards per carry.

That's the second time I've seen them try that end around/Marshall pass play this season and it has stunk both times. Not sure what Marshall's skills are here but they need to just forget that play.

Hmmm okay now it may be time to worry... Young gets the first 3 handoffs of the game.. Henry comes in at the end of a drive to score a TD... and then young gets the next 2 carries on the next drive.

I know Shanny likes to go with the hot hand and all, but man... I thought they'd try to get a little bang for their buck... they're paying Henry like crazy and Shanny really went to bat for him during his appeal

Guess only thing Henry owners can do is hope Young reaggravates his injury... or that Henry scores 2 TDs again like last week to make up for his lack of yardage

Kolby Smith out of the game.

Gilbert Harris running it now for KC

What happened?
He didn't come back in on a series and they said an ankle injury.Smith just came back in and lost a yard. Maybe they taped him up. Not sure how he will look - Harris was 4 car for 4 yards - not much.
Questionable for the rest of the game....
glad I sat him for Henry... though Henry isn't seeing the ball much

Bronco defense keeping KC in this. Gave up a 4th and 13. And then played 'ole defense against Tony Gonzalez.

I hate when opposing teams start going for a bunch of 4th downs, because it really dramatically increases their chances of winning. I wish more coaches would realize this and start going for it on 4th with more regularity.

Two really nice pass plays in this game to TE Graham. Both going across the field and well into second level of the D. I like these type of calls.

Young running hard - hope he doesn't get nicked up like he usually does.

Man, NFL.com had Marshall down with 2 pass plays. I was hoping they were doing something crazy...but nfl.com has switched it to cutler.

I take it Marshall hasnt thrown the ball?

Is anyone else sick of the Selvin Young Show?.... what could have been if Henry got 90% of the carries...
Young is a bum. Only averaging 7 yards per carry if you take away his long run. Henry would be averaging 11 yards per carry even if you eliminated his three biggest runs if he was getting the ball more. Shanahan is a bum.

That's why they run that play- 25 yard pass from Marshall
huh?
It was a mistake in the play-by-play. They assigned the 25 yard Graham completion to Marshall instead of Cutler. It's fixed now.

Insane that we're at the 2 minute warning already. This game is on pace to be 2 hours long, plus halftime. That's absurd.

I think the stat trackers forgot to switch the QB back from Marshall to Cutler after the failed pass attempt, so instead of assigning the passing stats to Cutler as they should have been, they were giving them to Marshall.

stat tracker just took away 25 yard pass, did that not happen?
Marshall has not thrown a pass - just caught one though.

first, :lmao: Young is great. I dont know why they felt the need to grab a RB in the offseason and pay him more than he's worth... they've turned how many no-name, non-drafted RBs into great players in that system..... Young should be the starter next year. And second, yes, a mistake by tracker. I'm stuck in the Marquette library "preparing for my prof. school finals"... not able to actually watch the game. Would have been sweet to see Marshall with a couple passes though wouldn't it!

Marshall penalized for going into snow drift and playing in the snow after TD catch- boooooo!
I mean, I understand they want to cut down on the taunting and so forth, but a guy just throwing a little snow in the air, gets 15 yards and will get a $25,000 fine??

Guess snow is considered a "prop?"I didn't see the play, but I think that's a little strict...the ref came up to coach McCarthy during the GB MIN game I think, said that they could be penalized for their pre-kickoff little dance they do to fire eachother up... lame... the NFL shoudl let some of that little stuff go. TO and CJ, thanks for ruining the NFL...

Another question, is Young getting caught from behind, being forced out of bounds or what. He has like like 5 runs for 20+, could he take any of these to the house?

NFL doesn't have its #1 stat tracker team on this one. First the mistakes with Marshall's "completions", and now they keep screwing with the score. First it's 21-7 Denver, then they stop counting that last extra point and it's 20-7 Denver, then they fix the XP but stop counting the 3rd TD, so Elam's field goal makes it 18-7 Denver.

Could someone make mention if Kolby Smith plays in the 2nd half?

I am a commish in a league that allows subs if a player is injured and doesn't play in the 2nd half...might decide a game today.

TIA

A little earlier, KC gained 9 or 10 yards on an offsides penalty.

With the exception of the one run where he messed up on 3 and 1, he is running hard and just getting to the second level of the KC defense and I would imagine (don't have the stats) the KC safeties and CB are getting the tackles.

Young's runs so far: 6 yards, 50 yards, 5 yards (didn't count due to offsides penalty), 17 yards, 9 yards, 0 yards, 0 yards, 9 yards, 7 yards, 9 yards, 6 yards, 31 yards. That's remarkable consistency. 12 carries, and 10 of them are for 5 yards or more.

He came in (according to the announcers) that last KC drive that ended up in a punt at the end of the 2nd quarter, but we will let you know about the 2nd half.

Dec 9 Young (elbow) is active for Sunday’s game against the Chiefs.

Recommendation: Young will be around to spell Henry from time to time, but he doesn’t have much value other than as Henry insurance.

I hate Shanahan!

My decision not to start Young and start Dayne will knock me out of the playoffs....Oh well.... :goodposting: You can't win'em all.
