Game Thread W14 - Pittsburgh V New England (1 Viewer)

VERY critical possession for the Steelers. They have to put some points on the board here.DAMN, it was Anthony Smith burned AGAIN on that trick play. What a donkey.
Uh oh..... I wish I could see a replay. It was awful close. Always want to make sure they pass wasn't a forward lateral.

As someone pointed out already, this Ref is biased. But I don't think it was close, they were both backwards.

BTW, Brady now has 44 TDs. It's crazy to think that his run at the record is such a secondary story to this crazy season that nobody's even talking about him getting to 44 with more than three full games left.

No.. I didn't say that. I just wanted to see if Brady was behind Moss when he caught it.

Not all that big of a deal. Manning had 46 with 3 to go but he could care less about pouring on the record. If he would have then Brady wouldn't have had a chance at the record this year despite him being so focused on doing so and that is without an MVP type of season from Moss. Moss's season is way more impressive to me.

Ever since the Ravens said, we knew he was going to sneak, the Pats have done something different on fourth and one.

has gaffney essentially replaced welker?
It sure seems that way, doesn't it?
I think I said a few weeks ago that having Gaffney as your number four is an embarrassment of riches. He has been showing that lately.
Let's not forget that Gaffney couldn't hang on to a roster spot in Houston. Embarrassment of riches might be an overstatement, but he sure does seem to have a good connection with Brady. If I have to choose one for next year, though, I still take Welker about 8-10 rounds earlier than Gaffney, barring a change in personnel.

Or maybe they pass even more this year to get the record :potkettle:

The big matchup was the #1 defense vs the #1 offense. And all eyes on what could be the best offense in NFL history. Result: steelers defense getting shredded. Amazing.
Not amazing. Both the Steelers starting safeties are not playing. Exactly where they are getting beat.
After today's performance, we can crown this offense as the best ever, super bowl win or not.

Anthony Smith is the biggest tool in the universe. he single-handedly lost the steelers this game. what a bonehead to say what he said and then to back it up by getting burned twice.

It's funny that you say that... watching NEs offense always makes me feel like I'm watching high school football for some reason!?!?

Nice try.

sorry but that crown should go to a team that can at least moderately run the ball. best passing attack ever, maybe.

Why should it? Anyway you can score points is good. Nobody can stop these Patriots from scoring.

Are you saying Brady's the best ever?

Points are points. It doesn't matter how you get them. And besides, the Patriots have shown this year that they can ran the ball, but when the opposing team can't stop you from throwing the ball, it makes sense to keep doing that over and over.

Can anyone remember the last time the Pats RAN the ball!?!?

3 plays inside the 5, and 3 straight passes...

It's stuff like this that makes it hard for me to believe that the Pats are so "unstoppable"

Granted, PIT is mising some DBs, but damn, just go into the dime defense and make them beat you on the ground... doesn't seem too hard... I know NE has some talented WRs... but still... you can double team Moss, and still have one body on each WR/TE with a LB manning up against the RB and 3 down linemen...

Can't argue that. There's still 4th QR to go...

Guess what. The passing attack is part of the offense.

Who wants to take this one?

Haha.. yeah, Brady fell forward on a sack... for their longest rushing gain of the day. :P

Maroney had a 10 yard run, but your point stands.

Lots of chippy play by the Steelers today. How that hit against Stallworth a full 2 seconds after the ball was in the stands wasnt a late hit I have no idea. Then it appears that Harrison had a bit of a problem with the fact that Mankins pancaked him.

If you go to the dime inside the 5 you are basically giving away a rushing TD. Brady would walk it in himself. And doubling Moss at the goal line really worked in the first quarter didn't it?

Coming into this week, NE had the 8th best yards per game on the ground.
