Game Thread W16 - Dallas Cowboys at Arizona Cardinals (1 Viewer)

at in laws with game on mute... why no 10 sec run off for the penalty?
The penalty was Illegal Formation. Since all the players were properly "set", there was no 10-second runoff.Seems like an interesting way for a team with no timeouts to milk the clock -- just line up in an illegal formation when you spike the ball. Presto, free timeout.
Your logic is flawed, a timeout stops the clock asap, this way is the same as a spike
Not only that, but that cost them 5 yards as well. Or the opposing coach could decline the penalty and they still lose a down. Not the same as a TO where there is no loss of yardage or a down.

lol does kitna just not like austin? he doesnt have a single 100 yard and a td game in months, these backups come in and it looks like the austin of old.

Right. Let a few folks line up 30 yards behind the LOS. What a bunch of BS. Worst rule ever.

But they didn't lose a down (it was 1st-and-15 after the penalty). So, a team that makes a big play could exploit the rule by telling all the trailing linemen to just stand still while the rest of the team ran to the line and spiked the ball. At worst, it's 1st-and-15 with the clock stopped. At best, the other team declines the penalty and it's 2nd-and-10 with the clock still stopped.

That XP miss has me wanting to break some things around here for several reasons.

#1 He was my kicker

#2 I wanted overtime for more pts out of Witten, Jones and Fitzgerald.

#3 I wanted another FG by my kicker in overtime

!$!#$!@#%#%

ur kidding right? Austin made terrible plays, drops, slips, wrong routes for both QB's tonight, , then one big play that was a perfect throw that made his stats look good. It was the same Austin as Kitna has been dealing with- he just got one big play. Kitna looked to him plenty the past few games, but he dropped everything in sight, so at some point Kitna has to go to some one else like Witten who literly has a 100% catch rate for anything that comes near him.

one big play? he already had 65 yards before the 37 yard touchdown pass, and 65 yard is more than he's had in months.

Sickening loss.

Sickening.

Beuhler is really brutal. He makes a 50+ yard field but cant make an extra point. Typical Beuhler. Guy has so much potential but just isn't reliable enough for a team with any type of playoff aspirations.

That being said, all the defense has to do is stop a rookie 5th round QB from some school Ive never heard of. Too much to ask I guess.

Skelton, asked how it felt to see all the Cowboys fans at a home game: "Well, Cardinals fans have to pay for season tickets somehow. May as well sell them to Cowboys fans." :headbang:

exactly- 65 yards and no one would be saying "wow, big game becaue Kitna wasn't throwing to him" Kitna targeted him 7 times in 1 half! They were accurate throws.. one was a big long play that would have been a td, and while it glanced off the defenders hands, Austin should have had it-- then you would have had your big day with Kitna. Austin played terrible with those 7 targets from Kitna.. If 65 yds was better than it had been in months- he would have had that with Kitna anyway if Kitna plays the 2nd half. All I'm saying is, Austin has not had a good season based off his talents, maybe it's just not having worked wiht Kitna, but Austin has made more bad plays, tipped catchable balls up into the air for an int while Kitna was throwing to him, than Kitna has made bad passes to him. so to me-- don't blame Kitna for Austins production, blame Austin.

Well, that's what I get for thinking Dallas' Def could do anything. Last week I took Arz and they sucked and this week I took Dallas and they really sucked. It's a ggod thing they were only projected for 7 points on yahoo. Dallas sucks really bad.

no way, austin cannot be the reason why before today he's had 4 or less catches pretty much every game since kitna took over. Kitna can't throw deep to save his life anymore, and half his passes to the flats to austin or dez when he was healthy would just get batted down....dont both wayne and welker have more drops than austin this year? if kitna put a few more balls on the money his stats would be good enough for people to forget some of the plays he couldnt make.

and why does the media focus on kickers and punters after the game instead of the HUGE mishaps elsewhere

THERE WAS NO DALLAS COWBOY WITHIN SEVERAL YARDS OF FITZ ON FOURTH AND 15 WHEN HE CAUGHT THE BALL

why is he not triple teamed there?

a DC or player has to be cut/fired over that but the media doesnt even mention it cause of the missed XP

like last week with several NYG blitzers losing contain, NYG SS missing Celek, no 'hands' team in for onsides ... all the media wants to talk about is the punter WHEN THE GAME WAS ALREADY OVER ... at 31-31 philly was gonna win eventually cause NYG had quit, zero blame for the loss goes to the punter

folks, the game was lost in the first quarter and a half when dallas had yet to show up . . .

please quit blaming the kicker . . .

 I was thinking the same thing. Heck, Akili Smith might make it back into the league with the kind of attrition rate you're bound to see :) -QG
