That was the most dominating Bills performance since the '91 AFC Championship game against the Raiders. It's been a long 7 years since Week 1, 2003.Lost 14 in a row against NE...I was at the last win....week 1 in 2003.
Were you really expecting anything different, though? The Pats are a great team...the Bills aren't.Same old Bills and Patriots. One team executes. The other team executes itself.
Is anybody really arguing that Fitz is a long-term answer at QB? Serious question -- I don't live anywhere near Buffalo so the only local media I get is through TBD. I could see going with Fitz for a year or two given that we're missing out on Luck and that we're at least two years away from relevance, but we've got to address this position in the draft this year, if not in round 1 then early in round 2. Last year's QB class sucked, but this year I can't see a good excuse for not coming away with a young QB.Fitz has had an impressive season, don't get me wrong....I'd be fine with him as a caretaker starter and mentor of a young guy.....but Fitz is NOT the future for this team.
Some people, yes. Not a major contingent, but there is some belief among fans and media (fans moreso than the media) that if the team doesn't have a top 3 or so pick/Luck doesn't come out, the Bills should hitch the horse to Fitz and pass on QBs altogether. Is anybody really arguing that Fitz is a long-term answer at QB? Who do you take where the Bills are picking in Round 1? The only QB that might justify that high of a selection might be Cam Newton (and he's a huge wildcard). Ryan Mallet and Jake Locker probably don't justify going that early, but both will also be gone before the Bills select in Round 2. Maybe Christian Ponder in Round 2, although his shoulder has to be healthy at that point. Is anybody really arguing that Fitz is a long-term answer at QB? Yeah, I think all the QBs besides Luck would be tough to take at #6 overall or wherever we draft. Things could change based on how the combine goes, but for now it would be nice to trade down and take Mallet, or just stay put and take somebody like Ponder or Kaepernick (sp).I just think it's unacceptable to come out of this draft without a QB. Last year was fine because the cupboard was so bare at that position -- I think we can all agree that it's just as well that we didn't blow an early pick on Claussen. But this year the front office needs to make it happen. We can trade down in round one or up in round 2 if necessary. I know we're talking about the Bills FO, but other teams have no problem moving around in the draft to target areas of need while still getting value.Edit: As of now, I honestly wouldn't mind taking Newton in the early 1st. It's a huge gamble, but he'd be more suited to playing behind our line than Mallet. I'll admit though that this pick would feel like Aaron Maybin Party II.Who do you take where the Bills are picking in Round 1? What's the NFL scouting thought on Kaepernick? I've loved watching him play in college, but I have no idea how he'll translate to the NFL. I don't follow NFL scouting as much as I used to.Yeah, I think all the QBs besides Luck would be tough to take at #6 overall or wherever we draft. I saw a blurb about him being a late 1st or early 2nd round pick earlier in the season, but I honestly don't know what the consensus is on him right now.Edit: Never mind. It looks like most draft sites have him going somewhere in rounds 3-5. My bad. What's the NFL scouting thought on Kaepernick?
