Game Thread W16 - New Orleans V Detroit (1 Viewer)

Nice work by crew: announcers where talking about Detroit's QB (or lack thereof) situation, and cameras panned to Stanton, Henson & Culpepper.

Brees could get 400 yds easily at this pt-- 310 3rd quart and completing passes with ease... They are up so big--- will the Payton pull Brees back now- or let it fly with the yardage record getting set up to be in reach next week??

Seems like if they continue to throw- it's the Patriots style of blowout from last year that got so much criticism.. Might make them look bad..

On the other hand-- it's a major record- and Brees and Payton say they want it.

You can tell this is a fantasy football board solely based on the fact that the saints and detroit thread is 2 pages longer than the titans and steelers one

Heh. I almost forgot that Joey Harrington is still with the Saints. NO should definitely bring him in during the 4th, just to rub salt in the wound(/womb).

So they finally pulled Brees?
Not yet. Since this game was over well before halftime, it's easy to forget that they're just starting the 4th quarter.I wouldn't be surprised at seeing Brunell, unless the passing record does matter. And maybe Stanton, though, you know, he might be embarrassing....

Kevin Smith breaks the 100 yard mark for the 2nd time this year (and thus his career).

ETA: Sideline announcer says Calvin is sitting due to "coaching decision", but also wonders if Johnson's right ankle isn't bothering him.

Very stupid of the Saints to still be throwing the ball all over the place when leading by 35 this late in the game. And all for a record that isn't that special.

And Detroit sets the record by going 0-15! History should be made next week, even if the Pack will only be playing for pride.

why stupid? it's a record that's 20+ years old, and they have a legitimate shot to break it. if anyone feels sorry for the Lions, well maybe they should try fielding a competitive team.what's stupid is that if they were gonna go for the record, then just go for it. Drew could easily have had 450 yards if they just would have stopped running in the second half. the Lions weren't coming back no matter what, so if they really wanted the record, they should have gone for it. Sean Payton's curious playcalling strikes again...
