Game Thread W2 - Indianapolis V Minnesota (1 Viewer)

Fire Childress .. Not after the game, not next week.. Right now.. walk down to him before this kickoff, grab his clipboard and wave  :lmao: .
Dierdorf said it best on that terrible 3rd down and deep in our own territory play call by ChillyI knew that Tarvaris Jackson was gonna do that on that play so I'm betting the Colts did too.As bad as Jackson is, Childress is an absolutley TERRIBLE coach.

Vikes fans showed very little class today booing their QB even when they were winning. Terrible.
Dan? Dan Dierdorf? Is that you?Give me a friggin' break. The Vikings fans have every right to boo the incompetence that is Childress and Jackson. The Colts all but gift wrapped a win for the Vikings and Childress basically said "awwww thanks Tony, but we're going to let you guys hang around and give this one right back to ya." What a farce. 3rd and 5 on the 31 with a chance to make it a two score game and we run a draw play, when we're on the edge of a 50 yard FG. Not a 30 yard FG. Not a 40 yard FG. Not even a 45 yard FG. Seriously, Childress has to go and go now. And he should take Jackson with him.

Perry147 said it was pitch, just trying to find out for sure. Sorry someone p####d on your cheerios today, but I didn't get game where I am and was just looking to clarify. Relax!

That should have been PI on the colts.
I really don't get it.I'll say it again. NFL is either fixed or "influenced" if you will or NFL Refs are incompetent.Take your pick.
Don't blame the refs.. There are blown/missed calls each week. Blame solely rests on one person for this dreadful loss.. Childress!
You are right, but that is two weeks in a row and I really can't take anymore. The Ref was standing 3 yards away from the play in full few and nothing. I really don't get it?

Didnt see the game, and there doesnt seem to be much discussion about this here......

1) Is Marvin Harrison finished? Terrible stat line.....

2) Is Anthony Gonzalez for real?

What happened????? :lmao:

Wow, how poor does Childress's gameplan have to be before Wilf gets a clue and cans his ###? This is the second week in a row, that I could predict nearly every important play for the Vikings. Like Dierdorf said, if I knew it was coming, you can bet Indy did as well. Seriously, if he's still the Vikings' coach on Tuesday, then Zygi is as much of an idiot as he is. Also, take Frasier's zone prevent defense with you. Jesus F'n Christ, you stifle the Colts all day with pressure and man defense and as soon as the fourth rolls around, it's zone prevent time? Get a clue already.

Also, when did the Metrodome become home to piss-ant Jets fans? Booing your QB when you're ahead? I had to shut the sound off because it was embarassing. TJax was making some good throws today and it was his receiver's inability to run downfield without tripping over his own skirt(Berrian) and his coaches ability to outsmart himself that made Jackson look bad today, not his own fault. I think with a real coach out there today, he would've looked pretty damn good.(Not to mention how good he could be if he spent the last 2 years under the tutelage of anyone other than Childress)

Anyway, that's a tough loss to take, especially considering how easily the Vikes were controlling play early on.

Also, where is the Viking's season thread at? Everyone too pissed off to start one?

1) That shooting still looms in his mind2) It's the Vikings non-existent passing defense. Elian Gonzalez would have put up a 7/112/1 today

refs are influenced, the first Colts TD should of been challenged that it was a TD. why in the heck would you raise your arms that it's a TD if it wasn't definite?

thx again refs for not calling pass interence for Wade AGAIN. The deep pass immediently afterwards was a good call, the refs owed them one after that non-call, but they still didn't cough up that flag.

But whatever, the Vikes deserve to lose with the playcalling. The draw-play before Longwell's 6th FG was too conservative, grow a pair and go for the win, afterall, you are playing the Colts. The rollout on 3rd n 3 on the Vikes last possession, OMG, worst call ever!!! Even the announcers saw that coming! I officially want Childress gone after that call, seriously. Way too predicatable for success, just horrible

Another play that irritates the crap out of me was the no challenge on the Gonzalez catch on 2nd n 3 with 4:05 left in the 4th... the ball hit the ground and I was yelling flag! Announcers said nada though, which I found wierd. Seriously, in today's football you pay someone to watch the game on TV and tell the coach to challenge. The Vikes don't seem to have some challenge system in place and I blame the coach.

my Vikes spirit is waivering today, makes me sick to lose in this fashion

Do you think the play calling would be a little more creative if you actually had a QB on the roster?? T.Jackson stinks and scares nobody.

No, I don't. Jackson did fine today. He hit the receivers when they were open. I saw only two bad throws today. The problem was that Indy knew exactly what was coming at them. It didn't help them stop ADP, but it sure helped in coverage. That offense is so predictable it's horrible.

what a waste of home-field advantage in the 4th. The crowd was so quiet, you would think the game was played on nuetral turf or something? It was like the whole crowd knew what the outcome was going to be. Still, they should be screaming their lungs out trying to change the outcome. Again, coaching needs to call plays to get the crowd into it and Childress failed to call any plays to tilt the monentum.

Thanks for the one first down in the 4th quarter Childress, I am so enamoured by the size of your big brain! Way to make adjustments. You're #####-bag Coach of the Year

That was all I needed but some people have to put there .02 in where it's not needed. No wonder I've grown tired of the BS in the boards and don't post very often any more.
Wayne DID score a single TD from a pass from Manning, but there was another play where Manning passed to Gonzales and he pitched to Wayne that was originally called a TD, but later reversed and put on the 1 yard line.:
3-6-IND 24 (3:31) (Shotgun) 18-P.Manning pass deep left to 11-A.Gonzalez to MIN 18 for 58 yards. Lateral to 87-R.Wayne for 18 yards, TOUCHDOWN. Play Challenged by MIN and REVERSED. (Shotgun) 18-P.Manning pass deep left to 11-A.Gonzalez to MIN 18 for 58 yards. Lateral to 87-R.Wayne to MIN 1 for 17 yards (26-A.Winfield).

1-10-MIN 32 (6:01) (Shotgun) 18-P.Manning pass deep middle to 87-R.Wayne for 32 yards, TOUCHDOWN.

TWO-POINT CONVERSION ATTEMPT. 38-D.Rhodes rushes right guard. ATTEMPT SUCCEEDS.

This wasn't Childress' fault. You only get 2 challenges unless you succeed on both of them, so he couldn't challenge it. I would say that it was the ref's fault. On the play that wasn't reversed, they should have called it a non-TD and made the Colts challenge it. That would have given the Vikings another challenge. The refs did make the right decision on the replay though. There wasn't enough proof to overturn the call.

Did you watch the game or just going off the stats? He hit Berrian in the End Zone for a TD.. Dropped.Hit Rice on the Sideline for 20+ dropped. Had Berrian easily for 40+ and Berrian Tripped over his own two feet. But yea, I can see how someone could blame TJ for this loss.. Is TJ a top 15 QB? Probably not, but we will never know with play calling that is so predictable Deirdorf and 99.9% of the people watching the game knows what is coming.Grab a dictionary, look up the word Predictable and if there isn't a picture of Childress next to it than it needs to be fixed.

The whole story is that the play calling was predictable, the receivers didn't help, but also Jackson was throwing it into the ground and sailing it over the head of wide open receivers. There was enough ineptitude in the Vikings passing game for everyone to have a share of the blame, but conveniently omitting Jackson's share in the culpability is putting blinder on to a large part of the problem.

Seems like two weeks in a row that neither STARTING Viking WR had a single fantasy point!

Has that ever happened before?

Didn't get to watch the game and I am a Colts fan, but I have Berrian and Rice in a league or two and they don't score ANYTHING! AT ALL!

I believe I said I'm not even ready to put him in the top 15 of current Starting QB's. TJ had some great throws and some absolutely :X :X throws... But when the defense and the coaches of the other team, along with any knowledgeable fan can see what is coming it makes it pretty easy to defend.Where's the play action? Wheres the "trick" plays.. Where's anything that resembles an imagination? P-R-E-D-I-T-A-B-L-E! Until they at least try things unexpected, the opposing defense and coaches are going to LOVE playing against us if they have any semblance of a Rush Defense.

 Rice had a TD last week and Berrian had 38 yards.

I've only seen the highlights, and they really dont talk too in depth about it, but how the hell was the play where Gonzalez lateral'd to Wayne not called a TD, but the 1 yard rush by Addai was called a TD?

I watched the game, Wayne clearly was down before he was in. The linesman said Addai was in for the TD, after instant replay it was too close to tell, not conclusive enough to overturn. He didnt make it IMO, not just being a Homer..

thanks for info. As a Wayne owner in a close matchup, i was pretty pissed after watching the highlight. Though it doesn't hurt as much since it's conclusive he didn't get in.
