Game Thread W3 - Detroit V Minnesota (1 Viewer)

:lmao: :lmao: Because <7pts /week from a so-called stud will do what again for your team?
I agree, he should become the first NFL WR to throw the ball to himself and then catch it. What a bum
So because he has a ####ty QB, i should hang onto him? :lmao: I think you just validated my point. While trying to take a shot at me. Thank you.
Coming from a guy who is going to drop Calvin Johnson for "Mr. Consistency" MSW. Real shark move there....

2 receptions for 19 yards....and 2 receptions for 28 yards. LOL...those are numbers from 2 of MSW's last 3 games.Wish I were in your league...
I wish you were too, you obviously don't know how to look at stats......Last week alone 10 Rec 105 yards and a TD for MSW, good for 31pts

CJ did crap last year and he will this year. I will take my chances with someone who has a decent QB

Go for it then. BTW...is this a 4 team league? 2 perhaps? I mean with MSW on FA and Calvin about to be...it is either a tiny tiny league or just a league with stupid managers.

Dropping Calvin for MSW is dumb. The Lions are going to start forcing the ball to CJ more IMO. They have to. They tried early, a reverse and a screen. Then, they just got away from it. They need to stick with that and I think Linehan will realize that. Maybe when Stafford comes back, we see things start clicking...that might be late season/playoff time for fantasy owners. He is a good buy low IMO.

Maybe, but right now they have probably the worst QB in the league. He can force it all he wants, but it's not getting there.Besides, at $82 no one can afford to pick CJ up after drop him anyway. So like I said, I'll take my chances with MSW and see what happens.

Unbelievably he was dropped this week.

You still here? I thought you were going to grab MSW?

Having 2nd thoughts already? BTW...how is Brandon Jackson doing for you? Regretting dropping Steven Jackson for him yet?

I should be done with you but I have to ask, why are you making things up now? I have no clue WTH you are talking about.

You really should go play with others your age, the kiddy room is down the hall.

Oh, hurray, another almost TD catch by Calvin Johnson. How many points do we get for that this week?
Not his fault he has a god awful QB trying to get him the ball.
Agreed. Calvin Johnson isn't perfect, but he is pretty damn close to it, and EASILY a top 3 talent at the WR position. Only Fitz, A. Johnson, and Moss can make a case against him I would listen to. Although I think Detroit is building a solid team, if Stafford doesn't figure out how to get Johnson the ball(by taking FULL advantage of the other WR's that are open due to the doubling of Johnson), CJ needs to hit the free agent market before he wastes away the prime of his career(now -2015-ish) on a team with a QB who can't get him the ball when the opportunity presents itself. I think Stafford IS that QB, so deal with the bum Hill while you can, and then prepare for a monster 2nd half...imo...trading for Calvin now will win many a FF player in re-draft leagues a championship.

Calvin Johnson is 3rd in the NFL in drops over the last 2 years, and if there were a category for being in perfect position to make a play on a ball and not making it, Calvin would be dominating the NFL in that stat.Calvin had yet ANOTHER chance to score this week and once again couldn't get his feet down. Once again we can all lament about how Calvin almost made that TD catch, like we have EVERY week going all the way back to the start of last year.Calvin gets such a free pass for all this stuff that it's ridiculous. Yes, he plays on a bad team, but he has had PLENTY of opportunities to make plays over the last two years where he has completely failed to through no one's fault but his own. They're not easy plays by any means, but they're plays that a guy who is as talented as people claim he is should make more often than not, and he simply doesn't. Physically, he's comparable to Fitzgerald, AJ, and Moss. As far as pure football skills go though, he's not even on the same planet as those guys. He is not nearly as dominant at going up and getting the ball as his physical measurables dictate he should be, and he is absolutely awful at getting his feet down on the sidelines.

TLDR: Calvin is huge, but has the worst hands and body control.

 Not many Calvin fans are going agree with you because they are so enamored with his potential, they ignore that he never lives up to it, and shifts blame elsewhere. I haven't seen it with any other football player to the degree as I've seen it with this guy.

:kicksrock: Glad to see someone else say this. I'm getting tired of watching CJ make great athletic plays to get to balls, then not catch them.

Just trying to help a fellow fantasy manager is all. No need to get upset about it. With the short fuse that you apparently have though...it might be best if you stepped back and take a few weeks away from the game. Irrational mid-Sunday afternoon moves can haunt a manager all season long. Buck up little camper...we all experience ups and downs in this game.
