Yep....a winning strategy to be sure...Really enjoying Arizona's strategy of not covering Gates.
Tolbert deserves the #1 spot, IMO. I'd keep him & have the starter for the Chargers.Any chance that Tolbert's getting big playing time this week because of lingering issues with Mathews' ankle? How eager should Tolbert owners be about selling high?
Or Matthews fumbles too much.Any chance that Tolbert's getting big playing time this week because of lingering issues with Mathews' ankle? How eager should Tolbert owners be about selling high?
I wouldn't discount the possibility. High ankle sprains generally don't disappear over the course of a week. However, he has looked good with the few opportunities he has had. He also has a cast-like thing on his left arm covering his elbow.Any chance that Tolbert's getting big playing time this week because of lingering issues with Mathews' ankle?
Any significant difference in pass protection? Who's in on the majority of the passing downs? Assuming SD has had any passing downs today...I wouldn't discount the possibility. I'm not sure that Mathews has been in the game at all in the second half. This may actually be good news for Mathews owners.Any significant difference in pass protection? The Chargers have been mostly double-teaming Dockett and have been pretty effective doing so. Passing downs and rushing downs, Tolbert and Hester have lined up more than anyone.Any significant difference in pass protection? Who's in on the majority of the passing downs? Really? That's good news? I don't think it's good or bad. In fact I'd argue that there hasn't been any good news on this guy since the season started.I'm not sure that Mathews has been in the game at all in the second half. It might indicate that they are protecting his injury.Really? That's good news? I don't think it's good or bad. It's good news because it indicates that he might still be in a position to compete for the starting spot once he gets healthy.Really? That's good news? I don't think it's good or bad. In fact I'd argue that there hasn't been any good news on this guy since the season started.
Yeah, it didn't look he had an ache or pain in his entire body.Nice run by Matthews to the outside for a TD.
Appears to me the only news out of San Diego is a full blown RBBC and with Matthews being banged up he's going to get table scraps. It's good news because it indicates that he might still be in a position to compete for the starting spot once he gets healthy.Really? Yeah, and I'm even more concerned now... I mean, IF Mathews gets touches in a blow-out, doesn't that indicate health wasn't really the reason for Tolbert being the main guy to start? [i am NOT trolling...just want opinions]Yeah, it didn't look he had an ache or pain in his entire body.Nice run by Matthews to the outside for a TD.
Norv Turner doesn't do RBBC. This looks like Tolbert's job to lose.Appears to me the only news out of San Diego is a full blown RBBC and with Matthews being banged up he's going to get table scraps. It's good news because it indicates that he might still be in a position to compete for the starting spot once he gets healthy.Really? His limited use in the 2nd half, which has all been a laugher, still could indicate a nagging issue. They ran Matthews outside near the endzone where there was a reasonable chance he wouldn't receive any significant contact.Yeah, and I'm even more concerned now... Yeah, right. Never too late to start. Every year there are less and less bell cows out there.Norv Turner doesn't do RBBC. Norv Turner is known for giving one RB 350 carries. He did in in DC, and he's done it in San diego. (In Oakland he tried to do it, but didn't have the personnel).Yeah, right. Never too late to start. I wouldn't go that far. Turner never has because Turner has never had three RBs who are so close in skill level. Each one can be productive in different ways, so I would expect Norv to utilize each of them according to their strengths. If that means Tolbert carries the load one week, so be it. Next week we may (or may not) see something different.AJ has been in a position to draft for depth the last few years. A lot of these guys can fill in at a lot of these positions. Look at the play of the LBs today with two of their starters down. McNeil and VJax don't show up? Oh well, they are easily replaced.Norv Turner doesn't do RBBC. This looks like Tolbert's job to lose.
Never mind, Matthews actually forced contact on that last play. His limited use in the 2nd half, which has all been a laugher, still could indicate a nagging issue. They ran Matthews outside near the endzone where there was a reasonable chance he wouldn't receive any significant contact.
On that 3rd and 11, Sproles was the only guy in the backfield.Who's in on the majority of the passing downs?
A laugher? Please explain. His limited use in the 2nd half, which has all been a laugher, still could indicate a nagging issue. Don't really care what he's known for. I see what I see this year and it ain't nothing close to bell cow.Norv Turner is known for giving one RB 350 carries. He did in in DC, and he's done it in San diego. (In Oakland he tried to do it, but didn't have the personnel).
This game has been completely one-sided since the Cardinals drive in the 1st quarter where they were denied a shot at the endzone by a penalty and then threw an INT.A laugher? Please explain.
