Game Thread W4 - Detroit V Green Bay (1 Viewer)

Woodson's reputation made that play - because there is no other corner in the league that wouldn't have drawn a flag for that. He basically was draped on CJ the entire route.

You'd also think that the Lions would get a penalty call on Wood there with all the flags flying in this game.
I would've flagged Woodson on the deep dig he almost intercpeted....before I would've on the slant. At some point you need to let the players PLAY.
I agree about letting players play, but my point has more to do with the tone of the game. It's all about consistency. Like a baseball ump calling the inside corner, you have to give that strike call to both teams.

Lions are a way better team than their record shows. They have made significant improvemenrts since week 1, where the packers have regressed.

This is an escape win...they got away with poor defense and a terrible 2nd half.
The defense is getting killed by injuries and really are missing Johnny Jolly. That was a terrible second half ... they really seem to have a knack for turnovers at the worst time.

No, they're not. They're the worst team in the NFL and their record reflects that perfectly.Every week people keep talking about how much better they're getting and how they're unlucky to lose. Nonsense. They have no offensive line, no linebackers, no secondary. They're penalty-prone, turnover-prone, poorly coached and have a losing mindset. They're losing close games, but most games in the NFL are close. The Lions lost close games when they were 0-16 too.

Wow. That is probably the worst analysis I've seen in the Shark Pool.

Packers REALLY need to get a running game to control the clock. They need to break down and give Buffalo what they want for Lynch. This could be the year for the pack, the Saints look average, the Vikings and Cowboys below average, but without a running game the pack are no better then the Cowboys, saints or Vikings.

The packers did not deserve that win. I am grateful for it nonetheless.

I hope McCarthy sees that Brandon Jackson is a waste as a runner. He takes a three yard gain and makes it a loss. Give the carries to Kuhn who runs with conviction.

maybe next year Pack
You were saying?
maybe next yearthey have no running game. not going to get very far like that, ask Chicago
They had none this far into 2007 and got within OT of going to the Super Bowl. What they do have is a QB who is pretty damn good and a lot of talent on the outside to move the ball without a running game for a while. No, it will not be easy to find a run game...but I think its foolish to count them out 4 games into a season when they have a top 5 QB on their team.

What do you expect from a Bear fan? Their O-Line got Cutler nearly decapitated last night. He knows they should probably be 1-3 and not 3-1. Only true competition the Packers have in the NFC North is Minnesota. As bad as Green Bay has looked at times, they still have been one of the better teams in the NFL to this point.

Sorry but they have not been one of the better teams. Rodgers already has 5 picks, just like the Bears they got lucky against the Lions, and the "should be 1-3" Bears beat them. To say the Pack are one of the better teams in the NFL right now is good humor. :blackdot:

This is spot on. They are 2-34. They've won 2 games in the last three seasons. I can go back further and it looks even worse.Win A GAME and we can start talking about how much better they are. Hell, just leading at the end of the half would be unusual. I can't even remember the last time they were leading at half time.

Oh, my bad. They were actually winning?
