Game Thread W4 - NY Giants V Philadelphia (1 Viewer)

Sorry fellow Eagles fans, this is all my fault.

I started McNabb in Weeks 1 and 2 and benched him in Week 3.

Yes, I started him tonight.

thanks to NBC for pointing out the star of their new show sitting in a seat at the game.

he must REALLY love Giants football!

Great job by McNabb who was in the grasp for not only getting that little dumpoff pass off but hitting him for a first down.

What a grab. He just plucked it out of the air. He looks like a man among boys with those smurfs around him.
Unless it's a conference championship game against your Patriots. Then he looks like it's the first time he's ever tried to catch a pass. :wall:

i'm surprised no one has tried to cheapshot Runyan outta the league like he does everyone else week in and week out

Paging Dr. Shockey to the white courtesy phone. Dr Shockey !!Anyone seen this crazy spaz this evening?
Limped off pregame. Not sure what happened.
That dude could get hurt brushing his teeth, SERIOUSLY. :hot:
He didnt limp off anything, hes in the game calm down.
:sarcasm:Getting madviking riled up is half the fun of these threads.
:coffee: :bag:

Not a good night for kickers.

Loved that Giants jailbreak pass rush on second down, by the way. That's fun to watch.

So, I'm confused. Is this THEIR country?I need reassurance.
Its OURS! Um, but I work for Toyota so it's kinda theirs too. :rolleyes:Edited: After 12 beers and a frustrating VIkings loss...Is theirs a word? It looks really weird. :lmao:

i don't know that they're good enough to not need Tiki just yet
I don't know that they're good enough to go far without Tiki, but I think they've improved enough that Eli is the centerpiece of the team. When a team faces the Giants right now, they're planning for the passing game, not the running game. I think the same would be true even if Tiki were still there.
You seriously believe that?Assuming you mean the same RB that was a Top 10 RB, I'd find that hard to believe.

Eli is better, yes, but he also has Toomer back. That's a huge difference from the 2nd half of 2006.

Eli's the focus of the game plan because the weapons are all receivers.

Is there a more frustrating team to be a fan of than the Eagles?I hope so, please make me feel better.
Imagine being a Vikings fan and wondering why Adrian Peterson, who had 100 yards in the first half, ended the day with 112. Try being a Chargers fan and watching your team go from Schottenheimer to Norv Turner. Try being a Mets fan and, well, ouch.

I think 2007 Tiki on the 2007 Giants with 2007 Eli would be one of Eli's favorite receivers, and would still be a decent runners, but I think that teams playing the Giants would be more worried about the passing game than the running game. And yes, Eli's doing well because he has good receivers. He's probably not as good as his numbers look, but he's got very nice weapons around him. You still have to be good to get the ball to a good receiver, as Carr showed today, and Schaub has showed in Houston. And a quarterback will naturally make a big leap in passing numbers with a top receiver, as Brady and McNabb have shown. Which is a good segue to the Peyton Manning/Brady debate, if you want to get that going again.

I don't understand NBC putting all of their premier new shows against MNF in the first place, but advertising them to the SNF crowd? Doesn't it seem like they'll be busy on Monday nights? They might as well say, OK, boys, get your tivo ready so you can skip over our sponsors' commercials...

this just shows how much philly's Offense depends on Westbrook making plays out of the backfield.
It has more to do with the Giants aggressive playcalling on defense. Philly obviously didnt expect that. Buckhalter hasnt played all that bad.
