Game Thread W4 - Oakland V Houston (1 Viewer)

Houston looked to have a hot start there on the 1st series but Oakland's d'line shut them down and force a punt.

AJ was held by DB Johnson and pushed out of bounds on what would have been a huge play, possibly a TD. Owen Daniels almost had a very nice 14 yard catch but couldn't hold on.

AJ schooled Chris Johnson (DB.) Wonder why they don't have Asomugha on him.

Houston stalls in the red zone, kicks FG. Slaton got the carry on 1st & goal from the 8, but the O'line got no push what-so-ever.

1-20-HOU 41 (3:57) M.Bush right guard to HOU 36 for 5 yards (B.Pollard, D.Ryans).

1-15-HOU 36 (3:57) PENALTY on OAK-E.Pears, False Start, 5 yards, enforced at HOU 36 - No Play.

1-10-HOU 31 (4:30) PENALTY on OAK-C.Morris, False Start, 5 yards, enforced at HOU 31 - No Play.

1-10-HOU 43 (5:11) J.Russell pass short right to Z.Miller to HOU 31 for 12 yards (B.Cushing).

Sigh.

Is Slaton really this brutal or is it a terrible O-line? Their inability to run the ball is singlehandedly killing their offense.

I missed last weeks game, but so far I put most of the blame on the O-line as they just can't seem to get any push.Slaton is killing himself with the fumbles. I think he has 4 in the first 4 games now.

Horrible blocking by the TE & LT on the Raiders for McFadden on the sweep play there. They aren't doing him any favors.

Slaton had a hard time holding onto the ball in college, no surprise he puts it on the turf so much in the pros.

Disagree with the refs there, I think that was a catch for Oakland. They must have had some other angle TV didn't show.

Looked good to me too. Murphy dragged his toe on a sideline grab and I'm not sure why the ref ruled incomplete (I have no sound).

Moats still in. He'll be a hot pickup this week. Onyl makes sense because I dropped him in a few leagues this week.

Slaton now checking in.

Edit: Of course as soon as I type this, Slaton busts off a very nice 12 yard run that was all him shedding tacklers and navigating thru traffic.

LOL - 32 yard run for a TD for Slaton.

Great playcall and recognition by the O-line. Oakland ran the exact same defensive play from earlier and Houston picked up on it.

Case of the dropsies for Murphy. 3 straight off his hands. 1st was a little contact/breakup by the DB. 2nd, he heard footsteps. 3rd was a bad pass but could have been caught.

Splendid throw by JaMarcus. Its completely the WR's fault. Why couldn't he have jumped another 4 feet in the air? Shameful.

ETA and then he redeems himself with a nice throw to Murphy. You never know...

I'll say this for JaMarcus- he has got to be the strongest QB I've ever seen. Who else can fling a ball 50 yards like that with ease? Amazing. I doubt he'll ever be even a good NFL QB, but he is fun to watch.

looks like they are going the three headed monster route. dmac and bush both had their own drives to themselves. Its the whole team sucking though. dropped passes and bad blocking for runs. Not really giving bush or dmac a chance to run.

Texans defense has looked decent so far. Really good stopping the run, and a little suspect against the pass but between the WRs dropping the ball and Russell throwing to the wrong shoulder, its making them look a little better. Some pressure but still not as much as I think they should have. Still no sack for Mario.

McFadden back in. He had no chance on that carry tho, zac diles shot the gap untouched and dropped him for a loss

Is Michael Bush playing? he had 2 carries in the 1st quarter and nothing since...was forced to start him due to bye/injuries. at least my opponent has mcfadden in

Michael Bush tries a spin move and fumbles the ball away.

Schuab has only been sacked 4 times in the last 3 games, been sacked 3 times today.
