Game Thread W5 - Chicago V Detroit (1 Viewer)

Orton lowers the shoulder! Runs for 9 yards and first down! Too stupid for his own good...EDIT: Wolfe in the game, think very poor man's Darren Sproles. Orton goes deep, perfect throw probably is completed, but he over-shoots R. Davis. Lions ball, bear down Bears fans! This could get scary!
Orton simply ain't that accurate deep. Not accurate enough at all. That said, he's 10X more smart and accurate in the short/mid range than Rex Grossman, which makes all the difference. As a Bears fan, I am ecstatic about the mediocre Orton - and all that says is how I feel about Sexy Rexy.

Is Calvin just not getting open? Seems like they're targeting Williams on almost every play, from the NFL stats page. Can't believe I didn't trade Calvin when I had the chance. Ugh.

What's with all the targets to Roy Williams? They trying to show case him or something? 5 drops and his piss poor attitude will have those offers rolling in.

i don't understand playing orlovsky. Stanton better be under center next week. time to get the kid some work and see what he's got. he looked good in the preseason and can move around which is precisely what they need with that atrocious line.

Announcer, talking about the Lions WRs: "I can understand [throwing] to Mike Williams, but Charles Johnson..."

Orlovsky took the final snap, but I bet Stanton takes the first one next week.Have a nice season, Jon.
That would make too much sense this is the Lions. Kitna will be starting next week. Just like Rudi Johnson was named the starter and Kevin Smith started. Just like Dizon was supposed to see more snaps in week #2, and was on the sidelines.

After the game on the post-game show locally, Kitna said his back was spasming and locked up during half-time. He should be back in practice (according to him) on Friday and ok to start next week. So I guess there goes the idea that he was pulled due to performance - it was due to injury. That plus the injury to Orlovsky makes me think that he'll be back in there next week as the starter. I don't think Marinelli will roll with Stanton for a few more weeks yet.
You guys who watched this game think I should pick up Kevin Smith or Kevin Jones in a .5 PPR?
Assistant Coach forum is down a couple. That being said, it's a crapshoot week to week, you'll take your chances on a zero on either one, plus they play for Detroit, so I don't see the big score upside at all. Only desperation would lead me to considering one of them. If I had to though, Kevin Smith has looked like the better runner, Rudi is a better blocker. So Smith will probably be in early, with Rudi in later on to protect Kitna as the Lions will be passing to try and catch up.

My gut feeling...no matter what happens, barring injury, I can't see Stanton starting the next two because they are road games. I am guessing week 8 at home unless the Lions preform a miracle and win the next two.
