Game Thread W5 - Chicago V Detroit (1 Viewer)

Any word on whether Stanton is coming in for the second half??
He's the 3rd QB, so he won't come in before the 4th quarter. Kitna's not the (sole) problem, as WRs have 4 drops. No word, but I wouldn't be surprised at this point.
True, Calvin Johnson had a horrible one early, as did Roy Williams. Both guys simply look un-motivated...Greg Olsen has some serious skills, bout time the Bears started to take advantage of them. 20+ yard reception for G-RegI'm still not sold on Neckbeard, but I'll bump him up to the mediocre level! Maybe sitting on the bench for three years was good for him?Marty Booker with an amazing catch...first and goal for the Bears. Lions still selling out to stop Forte/JonesEDIT: Seriously, if you get the time, check the highlights of this game to see the one-handed catch Booker just pulled off...amazing, although since the Lions pass-interfered on the play, it may not count.

That is probably the catch of the year...Lovie challenged simply to have it count.

Orton almost throws dumb pick in the end-zone...

Second and goal from the one...TD FORTE! Welcome the first round Matt!

(11:34) (Shotgun) K.Orton pass incomplete deep left to M.Booker. PENALTY on DET-T.Fisher, Defensive Pass Interference, 24 yards, enforced at DET 31. Play Challenged by Replay Assistant and Upheld.

wtf are the lions trying to challenge PI plays now in a groundbreaking to establish precedent???

what did they challenge?

Bears challenged that Booker made the catch... and he did.

Let the Orlovsky era begin! Kitna didn't have much to work with(protection wise) and he balls to spare, but it's time to move on...

I think they challenged to boost Booker's ego, as the catch was as good as you'll ever see...check it out once the highlights are posted....Orlovsky and Rudi in the backfield...Detroit fans apparently want Kitna to stay in the game according to Suzy Kolber...Lions get a break, or not...Mike Brown recovers fumble...will be challenged by Detroit...tough call, I'm expecting the refs to reverse it, just because they don't want the Detroit fans to charge the field!

Lets see what you've got Dan...he throws a pick...returned for a TD by peanut...not really his fault...deflected...

So, the Lions get a break when Felton is called down by his helmet touching.

Next play, ball bounces off Roy's hands -- Tillman catches it and rumbles for a TD.

It never rains, but it pours.

Roy Williams should have caught that pass...it was a bullet, but come on Roy...

Just send the chump to the Bears and get it over with!

They are bad, but if they can draft their QB of the future, and sign/draft solid o-lineman, along with bringing a young gun offensive coordinator, there is no reason they shouldn't have a prolific offense. Williams and Johnson are simply not utilized correctly, at all...

EDIT: Hester fumbles...probably blows your chance at shut-out! Lions ball deep in Bears territory

Calvin with his 2nd catch; Roy with his 5th drop....

Lions recover punt -- Bears shutout actually in danger!

it's time to trade Roy Williams. he doesn't care anymore. he has FIVE drops today. FIVE. in 2 and a half quarters.

Williams won't be around for their QB of the future. I'd deal him and let him pout elsewhere.

This is/was about as dominating of a performance a defense can possibly have...too bad Hester screwed it up! The Bears are certainly back...can't wait till they square off with Green Bay and Minnesota

Smith with a beautiful change of direction TD RUN. Best I've seen him look.

Honestly, the way his attitude is, the coach really needs to sit him on the bench. It may not help his attitude, but maybe you get a guy out there that wants to play and is paying attention. With his current attitude, he is NOT the 2nd best WR on the team, even if that is where his natural talent level might be.Nice little run by Smith there to kill the shutout.

The Lions scored 34 points in the 4th quarter versus the Bears last season...just saying...

I don't want Hester back there returning kicks now...can't have him get injured.

Nice 15 yard run by Kevin Jones, showed some burst...Orton throwing blocks! Wouldn't be shocked if Forte takes a back-seat to Jones the rest of the way.

Orton lowers the shoulder! Runs for 9 yards and first down! Too stupid for his own good...

EDIT: Wolfe in the game, think very poor man's Darren Sproles. Orton goes deep, perfect throw probably is completed, but he over-shoots R. Davis. Lions ball, bear down Bears fans! This could get scary!

Holidng on Bears D, looks like some second/third string guys are in for the Bears on defense. I think I'll switch to the Colts/Texans game. Hunter Hillenmayer almost makes an incredible pick. Dink and dunk right now for the Lions. Billick says this isn't the Cover-2, but the Bears-2, whatever that means. Roy Williams throws a mini-tantrum(kicks the ground) after an under-thrown ball.

EDIT2: Bears ball, Kevin Jones looking healthy and fast...the Bears have a very nice combo, and they will probably need it come December. Vesterjian(sp?) compated Orton to Neil O'Donnell, kind of like it. Orton making some accurate throws 15+ yards down the field. Forte is probably done for the day, kid deserves a break. Good as Gould hits long FG.

EDIT3: Bears kicking off, leading 34-7. Gould with a touchback. Buckle-up Roy and CJ owners, this should be a good indicator of what to expect with Stanton/Orlovsky at the controls. Lions in Bears territory, nice grab by Roy Williams. Bears have the first stringers in. Lions fail to convert on 4th and 3....Furrey takes a wicked helmet-to-helmet blow from Mike Brown, down for a bit, is able to run off though.

EDIT4: Bears ball, Garrett Wolfe back in the game. Billick impressed with Forte, depsite numbers. Commented on how opposing d-cords will have problems with him in the future due to his excellent hands. Lions stop deep pass to Hester on 3rd and 3...
