Wait....both guys had two hands on it. Does that not go to the offense?
If it's a simultaneous catch, I believe you are correct. What I saw was that the defensive player first established possession (or at least getting both hands on the ball), and THEN the offense did the same. Not simulataneous, then, since the defense had it first. Just my opinion...
We just watched it several times in slow-mo with our DVR, the order when like this:-Both guys go up, Driver has two hands on the ball, McGowan has one-McGowan rips the ball to his chest with his one hand, Driver loses the ball with one hand and now only has one hand on it-As McGowan's first foot hits the ground he gets his second hand onto the ball, Driver still has one hand on it-Way before McGowan's second foot hits (it's at least two feet off the ground), Driver gets his second hand back on the ball, both guys again have two hands on it-McGowan's second foot hits the ground, both guys have two hands on the ballSo in essence the order kind of went: Driver at the peak, McGowan on the way down, both when the 2nd foot hits the groundBy the time they hit the ground McGowan clearly had the ball clutched to his chest and Driver, while having both hands on the ball, was clearly reaching into McGowan's hold of it. McGowan definitely had "better" possession of it, but as far of the rules go is that a part of it or is it just whether or not both guys have two hands on it regardless of who's chest it's touching?
