Game Thread W6 - Atlanta V New Orleans (1 Viewer)

UnREAL. Saints get screwed over and over and over.Refs made a 17 point difference in the game. Un#######real.

Horrid Call. Refs blew that game.
1-5-NO23 (:06) T.Peterson 41 yard field goal is No Good, Wide Left, Center-D.Rackley, Holder-M.Schaub. PENALTY on NO-T.Bryant, Defensive Holding, 5 yards, enforced at NO 23 - No Play.

they're kicking a FG, if he holds thats good for the O, why call it?

The announcer is annoying. You can't make calls in situations like that? The guy misses so you don't call it? Please, the guy who threw the flag isn't even looking at the damn kick, he's making a call. The announcer makes it sound like he should only make that call if the guy holds so someone else can block the kick. What a tool.

Wow that's a terrible call and way to end the game. Early prediction: Haslett winds up with a huge fine as he is going to go off. And rightfully so.J

Where the flying eff is Finneran?  Had to start him today out of desperation.....
Same here, that is why I am demanding Schaub in, hell I would settle for R. Leafs passing stats right about now.
Finneran didn't want Dez White to feel bad about all of his dropped passes today, so he's dropped a couple of passes himself today. Seriously guys, for those of you who can't actually see the game and are calling for Schaub thinking he'd be completing passs. Forgetaboudit!

Falcons WR's are playing with hands of stone today.

For those asking about Horn. I haven't seen him on the field so far in this 2nd half.
are the commentators saying anything about horn? field report?
In the 1st half they just said he was not out on the field. I'm sure something more was said but i must've missed it.On another note, back to back penalties by Saints D & Special Teams give the Falcons two shots at the winning Field Goal. 1st attempt no good, moved up 5 yards and 2nd attempt good.

Vick went to Crumpler a lot on the winning drive. Guess he got tired of the WR's dropping all of his passes earlier. On the drive, Vick did throw one pass to a WR (Roddy White) which he...gasp...caught.

I disagree, I don't like pro basketball because they always wait until a play is over before they call fouls. They'll watch to see a shot go in and if it doesn't, then call certain fouls. hat's a horrible way to officiate and this ref seen a hold and called it.

This has nothing to with NBA or waiting to see what happens. It was a terrible call.I'm anxious to see Mike Piero on Total Access defend that one.

Saints shot themselves in the foot in this game. Those back to back penalties at the very end of the game were; 1st penalty was 12 on the field. 2nd penalty was holding. You cannot have stupid mistakes like that at then end of a tied game when the opposition is in Field Goal range. :bag: You're just begging to loose.

Thanks, like we didn't know the Saints are stupid.

True - but when it turns out the refs spot the Falcons 17, it is a hard thing to get over.

Tough call, but no guarantee the Saints would end up winning the game, anyways. Just a bad year overall to be a Saint or a Saints fan. Haslett looked pissed.

If the first half calls on EITHER the bogus offensive pass interference or the blocked FG were made the game would have been over.

Just disheartening to see the Saints get the shaft on a consistent basis.

How did the USC/ND zebra crew get into this game too?

I can tell you exactly what he's going to say... "We have to make the calls, that we see on the field. We cannot let the situation interfere with how we call the game. If we see a penalty, then it has to be called regardless of the impact it has on the outcome of the game." "It's unfortunate, and you hate to see a game end that way, but it's a call that had to be made."

I bet this is his exact verbage...

The Refs didn't make the Saints put twelve defenders on the field on the drive for that winning Field Goal attempt did they?I know the Saints also received a gift TD due to a bunk Pass Interference call by the Refs against Hall.

I stand by my statement.

Saints did everything they could to give the game away.....and they succeeded.

Same 'ol Aint's :bag:

The Saints did screw up there, but I am always left wondering why the Saints tend to get the worst of the refereeing. Heck, they got three letters of "apology" in the last 2 years! I guess we can just start collecting them for this year. This has gotten beyond absurdity. Looking back at it the refs were responsible for 24(!) of the dirty bird's 34 points...

I would agree chedha. That's how he'll play it.Reality though is that anyone who's ever watched a game knows the situation does in fact dictate what is called. If every call was made by the book that they see, there would be 3 flags on every play.

Speaking of bad calls, anyone remember this gem?"I will play, come hell or high water" - Joe HornThanks for the zero Joey.

If Dez White was say....someone who could CATCH A COLD today, Vick would've thrown 3 TD passesseriouslyi know you're gonna look at the box score and say he had a terrible game, but if you watched this game, you'd know differentlyLoop

I hope Eisen plays the blocked FG play and asks Piero why the leap-frogging Falcon who looked like he'd jumped off a trampoline wasn't flagged. Oops, oh well. The zebras missed that one but they saw the penalty on the Saints.

Yes the Saints made some errors. But the refs decided this game, not the players. I hope Haslett continues to go off.
