Game Thread W6 - Chicago V Atlanta

Have to agree with those that dislike the squib kick but glad Chicago did it. Got to have faith they can tackle a guy before the end zone. Even a run back to the 20 like the Norwood return expires the clock I believe.

 
Not trying to be a cry-baby here but go back and watch Ryan's last pass, the one that set up the FG. The play clock doesn't start until he's almost set to throw. Somewhere between 1-2 seconds after the snap.

 
It's a fair point, it didn't move from 6 to 5 until after Ryan completed the drop back. But, if the clock was stopped at precisely the time it moved from 7 to 6, wouldn't you basically have a second left? That looks like what happened to me.

The real error was leaving Jenkins wide open, near the sideline, that far down field.

Yeah. The clock could have been at 6.99 seconds. It just seemed pretty damn long to me. Of course there is no excuse for letting Jenkins get open like that.

What about when the Bears scored the last TD? The clock went an extra 2 seconds (13 to 11), so it all evens out. Plus the official game time is taken by an official time keeper on the field, not the scoreboard clock.

happens all the time, in other sports tooI'm sure the Bears DBs know all too well they should have had the sideline coverred

Was just re-reading this thread, since I can't look at it when the games on, I like to run it about 15 minutes behind on the Tivo, but I laughed out loud at this.Glad to see Jam get his first sack (and how cool was that Abraham and half the defense were celebrating it with him. He was close on a couple of others, was big in the run game and had a few key pass knockdowns, maybe this was his coming out party.
 
I was at the game today and the clock had 6.78 seconds. TV only shows 6 seconds not the .78. That's why it seems like the clock was slow but it wasn't, the time was correct. Amazing play by Ryan, he's going to be a good one.

It was the "What can you do in 11 seconds" contest.

Funniest entry: "In 11 seconds I can run 8 seconds off a game clock."
