Game Thread W7 - Minnesota V Pittsburgh (1 Viewer)

Here come the classy Steeler fans.
You've been whining for the past half hour and are now ripping on Steelers fans for not being "classy"? I agree it was a bad tripping call by the way.
Wait, we can't whine about #### calls?
When did I say that you couldn't whine? I was just stating a fact that you have been whining for the past half hour. Keep whining.......it won't change the outcome for you.
So we can whine?

Great game, regardless of the outcome. I think vikes proved they can play with anyone.
I think everyone already knew that. The Vikings are a really good team and the cream of the crop in the league. Great defensive effort by both teams today.
Guess you didn't watch/read any media reports or Pre-games this week huh  Everyone was questioning if this teams 6-0 was "real" or because of the schedule.

They proved today that they are a "true" 6-1.
This

If Vike fans are having such hissy fits already, I can't wait until they choke in the playoffs. Thats gonna be entertainment.

Good game Steelers. But there should be a asterisk by your record.
:thumbup:No one knows how this game turns out if the Vikes score a TD instead of the Steelers on that "tripping" call. There was 7 minutes left. Way too much time to think the game was "in the bag" if not for the refs.Enjoy a great game by both teams and get ready for next week..Favre vs. Packers.. Going to be a FUN Fun Week!!!!!

What a choke by the Vikings, wow.
:lmao: One of the worst posts in this thread.. and there have been many :lmao:
Throwing two redzone ints that are returned for TDs is a choke. As a vikings fan you should be familiar with this term but here is the definition just in case.
Wait!!! Favre threw TWO INT's that were returned for TD's??? REALLY?!?!?! Dam,, I must have drank a few too many as I SWEAR one of those was a great defensive fumble recovery..

But me, the T.V. camreas, the announcers and those in this thread could be just mistaken.. :lmao: for the info.

Well if Mendy doesn't fumble it the Steelers go up to the same score. Look I can play that game too.

Dear Vikings:

In the playoffs you are going to have to overcome officiating mistakes in order to win, and obtain the Lombardi.
Or even the Halas.Hey, maybe they'll name a trophy after Childress some day. Do they have any late hit out of bounds or roughing the ref title? Because after this game I'd say the Vike's D are the clear frontrunners.

WOW.. Either you can't read, or you choose not to.. I was clearly stating that this game was NOT decided by the Tripping call.. Yet you read what you want.. WOW.. :(

First off, that was the worst reffed game of the season so far(that I've watched). Refs should hang their heads in shame after that crapfest. However, Minnesota had a great many chances to take that game and Pitt just kept making big defensive plays.

Also, that's a tough stadium to play in. Wow, the Pitt fans were ravenous today. Hats off to you guys, you did a hell of a lot for your team today.

Sorry... way too much banter to sort through. It wasn't very clear to me fwiw. I apologize.

 So many chances.. Still Happy with the game overall.. Vikings played Hard throughout and had many opportunity's to win this one which many didn't believe they could. :football:
That was my exact take too. That tripping call on Dugan was horse####, but the Favre fumble returned for a TD and then the bad luck bounce with Taylor deflecting it into the Steelers LB for a TD just is what it is. Funny to see all the Favre haters crawl out of the woodwork though who probably saw "Favre INT" roll up on their NFL.com ticker and just assumed Favre blew the game. That was more on Taylor than anything.Kudos to the Steelers! Hopefully we'll get another shot at you this year...or at least in 2010 in Metrodome. :football:

Yeah Steelers fans forced the fumble and Chester Taylor to take his eyes off the ball. Man they are good.

:( No problem.. I'm doing what I can to keep this thread positive and out of the gutter. It was a GREAT game by both teams, and if there is any justice we will see each other again this season>>>

I agree with you. The tripping call seems lame although I don't know what the rule is there. I would think there should be some intent required and there didn't appear to be any.Very fun game to watch despite the bad calls.

Sarcasm down? I mean really...

Without Winfield, without BB most of the game, Minnesota outplayed the Steelers today. Steelers and their refs get the W today, but Minnesota is the better team. Favre threw all over them, outplayed Ben today, our defense was better. A bad bad call changed the complexion of the game. Savior your win Steelers, Vikes are a better team.

I hope we play Pitt in the SB.

Update? For a guy throwing out the drinking and can't read cards, you seem to be an expert at both today.

Maybe the Vikes should point the finger at the two guys who tried to pick up and run the Jerklisberger fumble instead of falling on it. Who knows what would've happened if they tried playing fundamental football instead of highlight football. Two guys, both with the first clean shots at the ball, they both try to scoop it and it goes out of bounds. That may have been a bad call but at full speed it's at least understandable that it could've been mistaken for tripping. Not nearly as egregious as some of you are making it sound.I just wish there was a way for both teams to lose this game. :lmao:

LOLIt's so posh to blame the refs when the Steelers win. It's like blaming Obama when it rains on your wedding day. OMG, this schtick never gets old. :lmao:

It's not posh, its reality. Happens consistently. Even so, the Vikes outplayed the Steelers today, you cant deny that.

Really? I'd like to see your statistical analysis or some type of proof that the only reason why the Steelers win games is because of the refs. All of the cool kids blame it on the refs ... Welcome to the cool kids club. You're really into moral victories, heh?

No they didn't. Ben didn't have to do much. The defense did it for him. Both teams played well and pretty evenly IMO.

Don't bother with him. He hasn't made a lot of sense in this thread..........

Dear Vikings:

In the playoffs you are going to have to overcome officiating mistakes in order to win, and obtain the Lombardi.
You are wasting your time. The Vikings know nothing about Lombardi or the trophy. They are just entering the Favre turnover season. It's all down hill from here, and the poor saps don't even realize it.

I know I will sound bitter here but that TD was a direct result of BS tripping call by refs. Steeler fans should be embarrassed by the regularity that they get all the cheap calls.Yes I bet on Minn
I also have to mention the BS call on Rice's catch forcing the Vikes to use their final challenge.Ha Vikes TD and an official gets run over.
Refs missed very obvious holding call on Harvin's return for TD. Make up call.
