Game Thread W8 - Washington V Detroit (1 Viewer)

Very disappointing game for us Redskin fans. Not surprising, but disappointing. The offensive line remains a huge liability for this team after 2 straight years of the offensive line being a huge liability.

The Lions deserved to win this one. Congrats to their fans here.

Quarterback controversy in Washington, and with a bye week, sports talk radio will be buzzing all week. Wait till Czabe get a hold of this...

Did Tony Scheffler even play in this game?? No stat line...
:goodposting: def had a targeton one third down play Stafford rolled out the pocket and had a wide open field, but elected to fire it towards Scheffler - but Tony turned like he was going to block, couldn't self-correctmight just be a coincidence, but I never saw him get another target after that playPettigrew's productivity was down as well - 5 targets, 2 catches, 8 yards

Landry seemed to be on Pettigrew most of the game and did well. The Redskins just didn't have anyone who could cover Calvin Johnson. Man, is he good.

Thanks for the info. Surprising how it happened though as the TE's have been pretty key with a number of games with lots of targets...

They played alot of double TE sets, the TE along with Pettigrew on most plays I heard was Will Heller.

Has Suh established himself as the best DT in the game now? Haynesworth might be better, but he doesn't play every snap nearly as hard as Suh. Suh is so strong, it is almost unreal. His second sack today, he was held by 2 guys and shed them both. The guy is relentless (he chased Santana Moss 20 yards down the field on 1 play). When he wasn't being double teamed, he was blowing Washington's C 5 yards into the backfield.

Boy that was a fun game to be at. With Detroit's defensive line I never felt that McNabb could make the big play to bring his team back. Go Lions!

Suh is great, but not because of the bolded reason. That happens multiple times every game by various DL. The only reason Rabach is still starting is because of his ability to make calls at the line.

Who would have guessed at the beginning of the season, that the Detroit game will likely be the better of the Thanksgiving games.

:hot: And the lack of a better alternative. I'm pretty sure this is Rabach's last season in the Redskins lineup, if not in the league.

Yeah, however I have been watching Torrain run pretty well on teams and today they held him to about 1 ypc before he left with an injury. Much of it was due to Rabach being in the backfield when the hand off was being made.

As soon as Rabach would snap the ball he was shoved backward. In the first quarter it was so bad he stepped on McNabb's foot twice. "Substandard" doesn't even describe his play any more. It's like this every game.
