Vicious hit. But I'm sorry, that's not a penalty. EVERY wideout in the league is "defenseless" when they're attempting to catch the ball. That's ridiculousl.

 
That looks really scary for Collie...hope the guy is ok.

That is also a terrible call. Obviously, not that it means much relative to the potential injury, but the NFL is only proving James Harrison and others correct by making calls based on the impact not on the rules. It was not helmet-to-helmet in that situation (he was running), not defenseless, not launching.

So, let's see Collie get up and walk off and the NFL realize that they need a better approach, too. On top of the horrendously awful flag, they also blew the catch-fumble aspect of it, it appears.

It was helmet to helmet. Stupid rule, because it was as much Collie's fault for ducking into it as it was the DB's fault, but that's how these work most of the time and by the rules that was clearly a flag.Classy of the Eagles fans to loudly continue boo'ing the call while Collie is unconscious on the field though...

Bad call. No penalty there...just the refs overreacting based on the NFL crackdown. That being said, I hope Collie didn't break his neck or something. That looked bad.

 
As questionable of a call as it was....the Philly fans look like asses for booing while Collie looks to be unconscious on the field.

 
The penalty may have been bs but the players feet away from Collie should have a little more respect than to hoot and cry with a guy obviously seriously hurt on the field. Let your Coach pleede your case from the sideline but get the F away from the downed player

 
The flag was thrown as a response to Collie's prone state in my opinion - it came a few seconds after the hit.

That said, the chorus of boos round the stadium for the flag whilst a player is lying clearly unconscious, and none of us know how badly he is hurt, leaves a bad taste.

Would you expect any less from Philly? Their fans have a rep for a reason.

The helmet to helmet contact was after the initial hit; completely accidental and nothing to do with the defender or his approach.
 
the first hit was fine - the helmet to the back of Collie's head was the one that knocked him out cold....

eagles fans cuold save a sinking ship of drowning kittens and people would still look at them or find someway to say they were negative..
 
Are we sure the fans aren't booing for:

1. The horrible flag

2. The fact that they stopped the play when it was a clear fumble and the Eagles should have been returning it
