Game Thread - Wildcard - Washington V Tampa Bay (1 Viewer)

For those of an IDP slant, Arrington's line currently reads:

T-A: 6-2

INT: 1

FF: 1

Which is an absolutely stellar performance. Any chance he's kept around for next season by the Skins? Or is he gone?
he has said he wants to be there. Gibbs might not love him, but he has tried to improve and "buy in" to the system imho. I'd say its about 50/50 right now.

Jesus, Bucs, can you make it a little more obvious what you're going to do?

I think the uniform switch has to really help the fanbase. Those are nice.Game isn't over, either. 17-10 in the 3rd with the Simms leap.

what % of Bucs fans are bandwagon fans who couldn't care less about football before they won a Super Bowl?
You're better than this.
I've been to Tampa many times and have relatives down there. I'm told the number is pretty high, and I think Capella has even admitted this fact before.
Just because interest was "sparked" by, oh say, WINNING for the first time in their existence, doesn't mean those are bandwagon fans. Bandwagon fans are Cowboys fans who can't find Dallas on a map.
I'm talking about the type of people who couldn't name 5 different Buccaneers players. I think they exist in high numbers down there.
Not sure if that qualifies as bandwagon fans. Were they fans of another team before the Bucs got good? Please conduct a poll and get back to me.Maybe they just didn't look good in dreamsicle-orange.
I'm saying they weren't even football fans (tough to blame them with how bad the Bucs were I guess), but then hopped on the Bucs bandwagon when they started winning. Once the team starts losing again, they will be nowhere to be found. That qualifies as a bandwagon fan, no?
Maybe You said it yourself, hard to blame them

A little presumptuous to say they would be nowhere to be found... they sucked last year but people still showed up. I think it just took a little spark to gain local interest. That team was the joke of the NFL my entire life until around 1999.
I'm not saying all Bucs fans are like that or even most. All NFL teams have fans like this. My guess is that the Bucs have more than most, that's all. I guess we'll have to wait and see if they stick around through a few losing seasons or not. It's a solid well-run franchise now though so that might not even happen for awhile.

"That goal line extends to infinity!!"what in --- ----??That's what I get for un-muting the TV (not getting good reception on the radio).

Well, if you think about it, there were only a coupls teams you could compare them to historically IMO, the Falcons and the Saints. Bottom line in that comparison is, kudos to Saints fans who have shown much more support over the years than they probably should have.

No kidding. Everyone knows the goalline extends beyond infinity.

I thought it wrapped around the globe?

ummm..its true. The ball doesn't have to be in bounds when you cross the goalline..it can be anywhere as long as it extends over that imaginary plain.I've heard this expression quite a few times.

Further to that... I grew up in what was technically "Falcons territory" (South Carolina) and in those days they may as well not have even existed. There are still no Falcons fans there though, that land belongs to the mighty Panthers.

[bGP]The Bucs stand against Washington, so they must be terrorists and hate America. And God hates them, and that's why they fumble a lot and are losing.[/bGP]

Well the punt team pinned the Bucs deep here at about, what, the 12? Nice. Field position is always huge.

Shocker...Pittman hitting someone. HOOOOORRRRRRIIIIBLE CALL. Worst I've ever seen. Disgraceful that is was allowed to stand. RIght in front of the ref, too!
